Job Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks related to the processing of ingredients and/or pharmaceutical products. Operates general manufacturing equipment, such as autoclaves, and automated aseptic filling lines. Handles raw materials and intermediate or finished products. Handles cleaning and sanitization of the facility. 25% of 8hr day is cleaning the stage area/rooms.

Role and Responsibilities
• Assists in direct manufacturing support functions such as Thaw, Blend, Fill, Stage, Prep,
Environmental Monitoring (EM), and equipment preparation.
• Assists in indirect manufacturing support functions, such as cleaning and sanitization of the facility.
• Responsible for aseptically manufacturing product to ensure product quality and patient safety.
• Responsible for manufacturing support functions such as preparation of equipment and
manufacturing components to be used in support of/or manufacturing of the product.
• Operates basic equipment (i.e. scale and/or balance, autoclave, environmental monitoring
equipment).
• Prepares and formulates the necessary cleaning solutions utilized to clean the manufacturing
and/or support areas.
• Adherence to standard operating procedures to meet current good manufacturing practices
(cGMP).
• Timely and accurate completion of required documentation to comply with Federal regulations
and assists with batch-record close-out activities.
• Carry out assignments in a timely, diligent and safe manner to comply with Regulatory agencies
both domestic and international (i.e. CFR, EMEA

Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Able to physically lift and carry up to 40 lbs., without assistance, on an occasional basis and capable
of working in various environmental environments.
• Must be cleared to wear air filtering (face mask type) respirators and personal protective
equipment.

Desirable:
• Autoclave experience
• Aseptic background

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Technician performs Manufacturing activities including producing and testing product, troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Technician will operate complex processes and/or provide technical support for the manufacturing area to which they are assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Set-up and operate complex or precision processes as assigned
• Test product using such equipment as Network Analyzers as assigned
• Be a subject-matter-expert for a given process
• Provide technical support and oversight to production to meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery goals

Machine Operator Job Description:

• Operate multiple machines used in the production process following company safety guidelines and policies.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards; observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
• Verify counts on finished products to determine if product orders are complete; mark or tag identification on parts; load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances (forklifts).

Job Description
1 Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
The manufacturing technician is responsible for processing components into finished product by following existing procedures and/or detailed protocols for the production of Veriflow® and Veripro® molecular diagnostic devices. The core responsibility for this position will be to implement processes to help create product under the supervision of senior manufacturing personnel as well as managing the upkeep of the operation and executing various administrative duties. His/her direct reporting will be to The Director of Manufacturing.
2 Main Accountabilities:
• Manufacture and assemble Commercial Products, specifically focused on flowthrough cassette component preparation
• Use of automation to perform raw material processing and production operations
• Bring equipment facilities issues to the attention of the Supervisor for resolution

3 Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
3.1 Studies-Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field and between 0 to 3 years of industry experience or equivalent experience in GMP related industry
3.2 Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting
- Excellent computer, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Must be results oriented, and self-motivated
- Lean six sigma knowledge a plus

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities** :
+ Respond to daily, monthly and annual metrics to work with the local Value Stream Manager to analyze effectiveness and recommend improvements to present machinery operations, tool designs, production methods and machine control to improve process capability. (Increased safety, lower scrap, higher productivity, etc.)
+ Identify and solve problems in the value stream by collaborating with cross functional groups to investigate Safety and Quality issues. Leads the identification of the root cause, formulation of corrective and preventive action to solve issue. Preventive actions may include revising policies and procedures, increase in preventive maintenance, equipment re-design and or changes in measurement systems.
+ Capital Expense: Lead the execution implementation of capital expense projects from quote to IQOQPQ with minimal guidance. Participate in annual budgeting process and execute emergency capital expense.
+ Create documentation to facilitate implementation of automated processes, commercialized incremental and new product and new equipment during the transition to production with guidance. This work may collaborate with Developmental Engineering and the Automation Group. Be able to lead automation projects and or recommend areas for automation in the value stream.
+ Lead initiatives to improve total preventative maintenance, ensuring critical equipment is understood and the risk of unplanned downtime is minimized or mitigated.
+ Maintain an increased awareness of customer and industry technical requirements and basic business acumen regarding the business impact of technical decisions. This includes the strategies of the local and global Enterprise Value Stream. Work cross functionally with on-site groups as well as global elements of the value stream including Developmental Engineering. In depth knowledge of the materials and the equipment in the value stream including new product development is expected.
+ Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations of the industry served by the value stream. Be a role model in demonstrating compliance and exhibiting and rewarding behaviors that comply with SQDC metrics.
+ Continue to develop professional skills in Continuous Improvement including Lean Practitioner and/or Lean Six Sigma Programs and value stream events. LSS Green Belt and or some level of Lean Practitioner training is desired in this role.

+ 3-6 years relevant engineering experience

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for engineering related tasks within the discipline of the hiring department under the guidance of more senior department personnel. Machine Operator Job Description:

• Operate multiple machines used in the production process following company safety guidelines and policies.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards; observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
• Verify counts on finished products to determine if product orders are complete; mark or tag identification on parts; load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances (forklifts).
• Assist helpers performing duties of lesser skill by delegating job tasks, giving time constraints to all work procedures thru out the manufacturing processes, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Record information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production.
• Start machines or equipment in order to begin production processes.
• Separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
• Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
• Remove products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines.
• Pack and store materials and products.
• Tie products in bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedures.
• Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
• Signal coworkers to direct them to move products during the production process.
• Prepare raw materials for processing.
• Read gauges and charts, and record data obtained
• Clean and maintain work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products.
