**Working Environment and Physical Efforts:**
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant the Manufacturing Engineer is assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year. When necessary, the Manufacturing Engineer must be willing and able to travel to supplier's factories and other Valmont site when needed for business needs (up to 5%, domestic only). There is no international travel required for this position. The work environment can be fast-paced and demanding at times.
Many of the tasks are physical and the Manufacturing Engineer has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, as well as balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

**The Opportunity**
Working under minimal supervision, supports the assigned area production supervisor in ensuring the continuous flow of high-quality production through assigned work-cells in accordance with manufacturing obligations. Assists in ensuring that high levels of productivity and product quality are consistently maintained and helps coordinate efforts towards their continuous improvement. Takes initiative to improve work product and processes. May be accountable for reviewing work of less experienced employees for quality and content. Adapts existing work methods to different situations. Can resolve unusual, nonstandard problems; refers only significant deviations from approved policy/practice to supervisor or more senior level personnel for resolution.
**What You'll Work On**
+ Assists in coordinating production activity in assigned work areas, ensuring that product is continuously processed in accordance with build schedules.
+ Coordinates communication of work instructions to personnel in designated areas in accordance with supervisory objectives.
+ Performs regular process and quality performance audits of personnel, tooling and equipment in assigned areas.
+ Advises supervisor or other appropriate contacts in the event of equipment failure.
+ Accumulates information for assigned areas regarding work in process inventory status and daily output quantities.

**What You'll Work On**

+ Ensure efficient and effective production processes?by overseeing daily operations, maintaining quality control, driving continuous improvement, managing the production team, and ensuring safety compliance.
**Required Qualifications**
+ High school or GED required.
+ Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing operations
