Salary Range: $70,600.00 - $05,800.00
Salary Range 2: 87,000.00 - 130,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Key activities:

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Manager to lead our Machining, Assembly, Deburr, and Tool Crib departments. This individual will be accountable for driving performance, ensuring delivery of complex aerospace hardware with a relentless focus on quality, schedule, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings hands-on leadership experience in precision machining environments supporting military aerospace platforms and understands the rigor, documentation, and manufacturing discipline required to deliver to those standards.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead day-to-day operations of Machining, Assembly, Deburr, and Tool Crib functions, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output.
- Manage and optimize production schedules to meet on-time delivery requirements aligned with strict aerospace program timelines.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline across all shifts.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Program Management to ensure compliance with complex aerospace specifications and inspection requirements.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices, driving continuous improvement and waste elimination across operations.
- Ensure resource alignment and cross-training to support a flexible, high-performing workforce.
- Develop and track KPIs including throughput, yield, labor efficiency, and machine utilization.
- Own production planning and capacity alignment in coordination with planning and materials teams.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to supervisors and leads, promoting skill development and high performance.
- Oversee tool crib operations to support uptime and availability of tools, gages, and consumables.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production issues or nonconformance.
Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Direct experience supporting parts and assemblies typical of advanced military aircraft platforms (e.g., tight-tolerance structure, complex assemblies, mission-critical hardware).
- Familiarity with ITAR, export compliance, and secure data handling protocols.
- Prior exposure to rapid changeover environments and high-performance production planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years of manufacturing experience in aerospace precision machining, with 4-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing teams producing close-tolerance components for military aerospace applications.
- In-depth understanding of AS9100, First Article Inspection (FAI), and traceability requirements.
- Working knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining, CMM inspection, and aerospace-grade materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum).
- Experience managing complex work orders, router travelers, and build documentation to support configuration-controlled parts.
- Strong understanding of process control, tooling strategies, and production readiness for recurring and non-recurring manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications with confidence.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, ideally in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

As a Production Manufacturing Engineer, you will interact with various engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret build requirements and processes for products, systems, components, or modifications. You will guide internal production teams, review manufacturing processes, goals, and current process statuses, and be involved in project planning, product workflow, and the design and planning of manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will provide input into original product design, focusing on the requirements for ultimately manufacturing the product.
Responsibilities
+ Provide manufacturing engineering support during new product development and orchestrate product transition into manufacturing.
+ Offer expertise in fabrication processes for mechanical, electromechanical components, and assemblies.
+ Design and develop assembly tooling as required.
+ Perform DFx Analysis at all product levels, identifying opportunities for assembly improvement and cost reduction.
+ Analyze manufacturing processes and their impact on a product's manufacturing parameters.
+ Assist in supplier analysis, identification, qualification, and implementation.
+ Review, create, and support product/process documentation as appropriate.
+ Provide technical support for product-specific issues at suppliers, monitor supplier processes, collect, analyze, and report data, and initiate corrective actions as required.
+ Participate in failure analysis teams and review and analyze data to drive corrective actions.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering on established products, NPI of system level products, and process/product improvements.
+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent.
+ Broad manufacturing experience with electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical products.
+ Successful track record of transitioning products into manufacturing (contract manufacturing preferred).
+ Experience in process cost analysis/modeling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency in production integration, assembly, BOM management, and Solidworks.
+ Ability to support complex detection systems for both DoD and foreign military.
+ Experience working in a small engineering team environment while supporting a large production space.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.26 - $57.26/hr.

Responsibilities
+ Documents / Records cGMP data and information for processing steps and / or equipment activities, following standard operating procedures; Key documentation includes batch records and equipment logbooks.

Requirements

+ Associate's Degree in a scientific, engineering or biotechnology discipline with a minimum of 1-2 years related experience; coursework with biotechnology focus highly desirable
+ OR
+ Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field, an emphasis in a scientific or engineering discipline and some relevant work experience
+ Basic knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's).
+ Working knowledge of all relevant safety procedures within the company.
+ General understanding of most areas in Manufacturing and supporting functional groups.
