Job Description
We are looking for a visionary and execution-driven Director of Cell Therapy Manufacturing to lead and scale GMP manufacturing operations across our Santa Monica and Tarzana sites overseeing clinical and commercial manufacturing of autologous and/or allogeneic cell therapy products. You will be both strategic and hands-on-accountable for building and sustaining world-class operations that deliver high-quality, life-saving cell therapies to patients globally.
You will be responsible for site readiness, operational execution, team leadership, and cross-functional integration to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality therapies to patients.
The Director will be an important member of the Site Leadership Team, driving network readiness, operational excellence, and cross-site alignment to support an expanding clinical and commercial pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end GMP manufacturing across Santa Monica and Tarzana sites, ensuring execution of clinical and commercial production goals.
- Improve accountability for safety, compliance, and product quality while promoting a culture of excellence and ownership.
- Translate enterprise manufacturing strategy into site-level execution, ensuring seamless integration of new product introductions (NPIs), scale-up activities, and capacity expansions.
- Design and evolve site governance, organizational structures, roles, and interfaces to support growth, multi-product operations, and a scaling commercial pipeline.
- Contribute to global capacity planning through modeling, resource forecasting, and scenario-based planning.
- Lead operating model implementation across both sites, including change management, communication, and team agreement.
- Be a voice in long-range planning (LRP), network optimization, and facility readiness plans.
- Use data and operating model to inform strategic decisions on staffing, capacity, and technology deployment.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing leaders; build leadership bench strength and succession readiness.
- Cultivate a high-engagement environment through empowerment, recognition, and performance management.
- Partner with MS&T, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs to lead seamless tech transfers, scale-up, and process robustness.
- Champion Lean principles and continuous improvement across both sites-driving efficiency, cost competitiveness, and throughput gains.
- Ensure inspection readiness and support health authority interactions (e.g., PAI, HA responses).
- Identify and mitigate risks through deviation management, CAPA oversight, and quality culture reinforcement.
- Apply lessons learned across sites and contribute to network standardization and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA.
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in GMP biologics or cell/gene therapy manufacturing, with multi-site or network exposure.
- Experience leading clinical and commercial operations through scale-up, tech transfer, or launch readiness.
- Enterprise mindset with a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
- Expertise in GMP compliance, batch execution, capacity planning, and change management.
- Financial and business acumen; experience with budget ownership and cost optimization.
- Experience leading operations during site build-out, expansion, or digital transformation.
- Familiarity with MES, LIMS, and ERP platforms in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Prior success working in a matrixed global organization with cross-site responsibility.

Plant Operations Manager Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations in forging, machining, maintenance, EH&S, safety, and shipping/receiving. Must also be capable of working collectively with the executive team to plan and deploy vertical integration machining capabilities, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and operational excellence objectives.
- Lead all operational areas, including forging and machining operations, maintenance, EH&S, and safety, ensuring alignment to production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the site SME and champion for Lean tools and continuous improvement, actively coaching teams and driving improvements on the floor. - Lead Kaizen events and daily continuous improvement activities to drive measurable operational gains.
- Develop and mentor CI change agents within the team, building internal capability to drive and sustain continuous improvement efforts.
- Prepare and deliver operational updates, executive-level metrics, and financial performance reports to the executive team, providing clear insights, recommendations, and status on key initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and other support services to resolve operational challenges, implement process improvements, and ensure alignment across the plant.
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as throughput, cycle times, scrap rates, labor productivity, quality, and cost performance.
- Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, engaging with employees, solving problems, and ensuring accountability.
Plant Operations Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, Industrial/Operations Management, or significant equivalent manufacturing experience with a minimum 7+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership in a heavy industrial environment, ideally with machining operations.
- Demonstrable, verifiable results in transforming operations and improving key metrics.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and other support services to achieve operational goals.

Stellant Systems Inc. (Stellant) currently has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in the space Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) group at our Torrance, California location. In this position you will support production, development and continuous improvement efforts related to the manufacturing of TWTs, specifically the vacuum envelope. Stellant's industry leading space TWT & LTWTAs support a variety of spacecraft mission needs with over 4700 modern TWTs in orbit and 290 million operating hours. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for development, documentation, training, and technical support in key processes utilized to manufacture a TWTs. You will also develop an expertise in several unique manufacturing practices utilized to build space TWT. The role is heavily production lead, with focus on delivery targets to meet space program needs. Your work may be in a variety of technical and operational disciplines to perform general troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), develop manufacturing process improvements and design upgrades.
**Responsibilities**
+ Observe, evaluate and troubleshoot existing production problems
+ Develop an overarching understanding of the manufacturing processes that go into TWT vacuum hardware
+ Support operations personnel on day-to-day production needs
+ Support program management on technical issues and customer relations
+ Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop or troubleshoot designs to meet performance, cost and schedule metrics
+ Specify components and/or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

**Qualifications**
+ At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience. An advanced degree in a relevant field can be considered sufficient experience in lieu of professional experience. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include:
+ Hands on manufacturing engineer experience preferred
+ Support of space or aerospace hardware preferred
+ Experience working with engineering drawings
+ Experience writing assembly instructions or equivalent
+ Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles a plus
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed, with experience presenting to internal and/or external customers a plus
+ Must be able to work well in a team environment and with individuals from a variety of areas within the company (such as program managers, engineers from multiple disciplines, and operations staff)
+ A bachelor's degree in physics or an engineering discipline is required. A master's degree in one of these disciplines a plus

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to manage manufacturing engineering department at our Torrance, California location. In this position, you will provide leadership and coordination throughout all aspects of manufacturing engineering and interface with management and specialists from other functional disciplines, serving as the principal point of contact for internal customer organizations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Implement and analyze manufacturing plans and projects
+ Design, develop and transfer manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems
+ Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes

**Qualifications**
+ Proficient with schematics and circuit diagrams, engineering drawings, BOM and indentured parts lists.
+ Working knowledge in mechanical assembly methods and electrical processes including wire cutting, striping, splicing, contact or terminal crimping, conformal coating, heat shrinking and soldering.
+ Experience with J STD 001 + Space Addendum preferred.
+ Experience with electrical testing including continuity and insulation resistance desired.
+ Experience with conformal coating, molding/potting and shielding desired.
