Graphic Packaging International is seeking an experienced and hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shift performance, including safety, quality, production efficiency, staffing, and equipment maintenance. The Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in driving operational excellence by managing daily activities, coordinating with plant leadership, and supporting frontline employees.

Reporting Relationship This position reports directly to Vice President of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (or designated representative in QAQC service center).
Responsibilities

+ Control of Documents and Records Control of Nonconforming Installation Initiation, follow-up and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
+ Document and Implement the Quality Plan tailored to project specifications/contractual requirements
+ Partner with the project team in understanding the complete scope of work for the project.
+ Establish and lead 3-Phase Quality Control Process conducting preparatory, initial and follow-up phase inspections.
+ Collect data from internal inspections on conformity to requirements and compliance to procedures and prepare weekly inspection data log (Field Data Collection Report).
+ Initiate/Assign/Manage Discrepancy Notices, Corrective Action Reports, Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
+ Identify and provide solutions to project specific issues based on knowledge, experience and outside resources.
+ Manage the punch list identification and closeout process.
+ Establish and lead quality initiatives for the project.
+ Participate in the review of Engineering deliverables (Drawing (Design/Detail), Specification, Submittals) and ensure all comments generated during these reviews are addressed.
+ Provide oversight and coordinate 3rd party peer design and 3rd party testing agencies, implement recommendations as necessary.
+ Participate in the daily Operational Risk Management (ORM) meetings ensuring Quality items/issues for the scope of the work are discussed.

Qualifications
**Qualifications:**

+ The candidate must have the necessary QAQC experience either serving directly as a QAQC manager or in the capacity of Project Manager, Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent, Engineering Manager etc.
+ The candidate must have experience in leading, auditing and providing oversight for the integration of M.C. ABOUT THE ROLE
To collect samples from jobsites/batch plants and performs field and laboratory quality control testing to ensure product specifications are achieved. Help to maintain DOT product approvals. Use knowledge of concrete design to help innovate new products that meet internal and external aspirations. Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed. Assists in mix design development, and other construction materials testing. Assist with specification review and mix design submittal preparation. Assist with mix design maintenance.

  • Examines laboratory samples to determine their physical and chemical properties.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
To collect samples from jobsites/batch plants and performs field and laboratory quality control testing to ensure product specifications are achieved. Help to maintain DOT product approvals. Use knowledge of concrete design to help innovate new products that meet internal and external aspirations. Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed. Assists in mix design development, and other construction materials testing. Assist with specification review and mix design submittal preparation. Assist with mix design maintenance.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
+ Examines laboratory samples to determine their physical and chemical properties.
+ Uses a variety of instruments and calculations to determine conformity. Performs various tests to make certain that samples meet required standards. May be assigned to manage a specific job in the field.
+ Records, analyzes, certifies and prepares summaries of findings. Maintains records of test results using various databases.
+ May design mixes to be used at various plants based on materials used at each site. Optimizes mix designs to reduce costs of materials used by adding recycled materials, additives or other materials.
+ Assists with customer service issues as required. Troubleshoots to determine reason for problem or complaint.
+ Collects samples from various plants/job sites as required. Work performed in a laboratory setting or at a field location.
+ Interacts with the work of other QC Technicians to ensure work is completed timely and efficiently pursuant to Quality Control Standards and Legal Requirements.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
Education: Associate's degree or years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management
Required Work Experience: 5 years
Required Training/Certifications: ACI and/or NRMCA Certifications
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel), Command, Quadrel, Google, SAP
Understanding of CDOT specifications and test procedures for aggregates and concrete.
Complete understanding of ASTM specifications and test procedure for concrete.
Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends to meet customer needs.
Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ft.
**Additional Requirement**

**MISSION / SUMMARY:**
Provide direct on shift supervision for Power and Recovery Department. Power & recovery operation supports two paper machines, fiber process with includes 3 continuous digesters (3-Kamyr) and an OCC plant (recycle fiber from our internal converting plants and DLK from the open market)
**JOB FUNCTION:** _Job functions include, but are not limited to the following._
+ Directly supervises approximately 20 hourly employees in the operation of power and steam generation and distribution systems, and chemical recovery operations in a large pulp and paper mill. Assets include three power boilers at 1,100,000 lbs/hr. two are package with gas burners that operate at 600 psi. Also a high pressure boiler fired on gas and bark that operates at 1500 psi. 2 G.E. turbines that can maximize electrical generation at ~35MW and a Gas Turbine that generates ~32 MW . Two recovery boilers that burn a combined average of 4.0MMILBS/Day.
+ Accountable for overall shift performance in accordance to established key performance indicators (KPI's) to include: safety, environmental compliance, housekeeping, quality and efficiency. Takes necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures that will prevent future reoccurrence.
+ Plan and control the generation and distribution of steam, generation and distribution of electrical power and chemical recovery operations against operating targets.
+ This role actively leads 5S and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department. The Supervisor, Power and Recovery ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.
**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:**
+ 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in a power and recovery operation.
**EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:**
+ Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent power and recovery experience will also be considered.
**SPECIFIC SKILLS:**
+ SAP experience preferred.
+ Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule including some weekends. 5-week rotation work schedule: 3 off, 4 (D) on; 7 off, 4 (N) on; 3 off, 3(D) on; 1 off, 3(N), then cycle starts over. This 5-week rotation provides two weekends off per month. Vacation time is limited to long days, so that the relief supervisor can cover the vacancy. Any additional vacation time is expected to be worked out among the supervisors.

2. Prompt reporting of all issues, with details.
3. Incident reports to be completed prior to leaving the facility.
**Quality Standards:**
1. Center Line reviews (familiar with ParcView, Capstone programs)
2. KPI's understood and always pursued.

5. Water Quality
6. Utilization of SOPs with all assets.
**Performance Expectations:**
1. Vacation Policy adhered to.
