anticipation of new product release. You
will collaborate daily with design and service engineering colleagues on DFM
(design for manufacturing) topics for new and refurbished combustion hardware.
**How You'll Make an Impact**
- Develop and implement
manufacturing processes for complex gas turbine combustion component
fabrication and machining processes.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are
clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop
floor via technical instructions, project briefings, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and
training to operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use of
fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
- Communicate and work effectively
with design and service engineering colleagues on process improvements and new
product development and introduction.
**What You Bring**
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required, along with2+ years of manufacturing experience in a fabrication and machine shopenvironment, specifically with CNC machine controls for laser drilling, laser cutting, laser welding, and machining Nickel-based alloys; candidates with more experience may qualifyfor a higher level.
+ Proficient in CAD/CAM software and experienced in fixture design and fabrication.
+ Demonstrated ability to implement and improve manufacturing processes, facilities, and production planning, with knowledge of tooling and equipmentselection.
+ Strong ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, with asolid understanding of GD&T.
+ Fundamental understanding of non-destructive and destructive testingtechniques, including experience with CMM equipment and software, as well asfamiliarity with Lean/Six Sigma philosophies for process improvement.
+ Preferred qualifications include technical expertise in metal joiningprocesses with Nickel-based alloys, experience with SAP, Siemens NX CAD/CAM,TeamCenter, robotic programming, and heat treat furnace operations.
Applicants
must be legally authorized for employment in the U.S. without
employer-sponsored work authorization.
**About the Team**
Through our Gas Services division, we enhance and innovate conventional and
renewable power supply. Currently, we're reducing carbon emissions of existing
assets and developing technologies that transform power generation
applications.
Specifically, Combustion Component Manufacturing is responsible for the
manufacture of transition ducts and combustor baskets primarily, that produce
and deliver the hot gas into the 1st turbine stage of the gas turbine. We work closely with combustion design
engineering on the development of cutting-edge technology which is evident in
the newly released 9000HL gas turbine with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants.
