**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide hands-on production support to resolve technical issues and minimize downtime.
+ Develop, maintain, and approve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routers, and manufacturing plans through our MES, TIPSFE.
+ Review and redline engineering drawings, BOMs, and other documentation to enhance producibility and correct errors.
+ Support NPI efforts through tooling assessment and procurement, process validation, first article builds, and resource planning.
+ Participate in the setup and flow optimization of the production floor in the new facility.
+ Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions on the production floor.
+ Collaborate with a cross-functional team in engineering, quality, planning, and supply chain to ensure smooth production flow.
+ Identify and execute cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
+ Support operator training.
+ Use solid modeling software (SolidWorks) to design and create custom tooling as necessary. Fabricate in-house with an FDM printer or facilitate external fabrication as needed.
+ Uphold compliance with internal AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and QMS documentation.

Key job responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements, designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell, supports facility and equipment planning, authors procedures, implements process controls, and supports continuous improvement.

A day in the life
The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations. They will work with other engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment. They will address root cause of failures and issues, and implement production control and optimization strategies. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances.
The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on handling flight hardware or lifting and rigging systems.

As a **Manufacturing Electrical Engineer** **II** **, y** ou will make a significant contribution to the team developing, verifying, and sustaining test processes, test equipment, and test procedures that will be used in the manufacturing of new and existing Collins Aerospace products.

**Projects & New Solutions**
+ Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.
+ Identifycomponent test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
+ Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.

+ Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will minimize production staffing needs and capital requirements.
+ Select and order capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis. Generate and track Appropriation Requests.
+ Improve existing test fixtures and equipment needed to improve test performance.
+ Participates in Production Readiness Reviews to determine suitability of new designs for production.
+ Support efforts to conduct gage R&R efforts on new test solutions to verify consistent product and equipment performance.
**Sustain/Support**
+ Responsible for providing technical support for entire product test process, board level through top-level test and support floor test technicians in meeting monthly production schedule.
+ Develop complete working knowledge of any assigned test systems and hardware.
+ Provide test engineering support during the resolution of manufacturing flow inhibitors (MFIs).
+ Provides technical assistance and support to floor test technicians.
+ Provide technical mentorship to other engineers.
+ Interface with design engineering in coordinating design changes required for sustaining production during the resolution of obsolete part, tolerance, and test yield issues.
+ Work with test technicians to train them on products and test systems.
+ Maintain test documentation for current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all test documents.

The hardware produced at this location is complex, containing circuit card assemblies (CCAs), microelectronics assemblies, cable harnesses, and higher-level system assemblies.
