Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000

We're looking for a Manufacturing Manager who is hands-on, floor-focused, and passionate about mentoring a high-performing production team. This isn't a behind-the-desk leadership role. You'll be out where the action happens-supporting your team, solving problems in real time, and driving performance through example.
What You'll Do:
- Lead day-to-day production operations for steel cutting, grinding, injection molding, and assembly lines to meet KPIs
- Be a visible, on-the-floor presence-actively engaging with team members to keep production on track
- Motivate and mentor a team of supervisors and union employees to meet safety, quality, and output goals
- Identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively
- Collaborate closely with planning, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Report directly to the Factory Director with insights, actions, and performance updates
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience in a union environment
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced production setting

**Overview**
This client is an industry-leading synthetic biology company focused on developing disruptive Synthetic DNA technology. This technology will enable widespread health and sustainability, allowing synthetic biologists to engineer organisms for various groundbreaking applications.
In this role, you'll be working with a team of dedicated professionals to produce custom oligonucleotide products. This role will give you an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a high throughput manufacturing environment, contributing to the development of products that have significant impacts on health and sustainability.
**Schedule:**
2A: Alt Saturday, Sunday-Tuesday (7:00pm-7:30am)
2B: Wednesday-Friday, Alt Saturday (7:00pm-7:30am)
**Responsibilities:**
+ Manufacture high-quality custom oligo-containing products in a high-throughput manufacturing lab according to established SOPs.
+ Operate robotic laboratory equipment and traditional lab equipment (bioanalyzers, centrifuges, sealers, thermocyclers, spectrometers, HPLCs, Next Gen Sequencing, etc.).
+ Utilize traditional molecular biology processes and techniques, especially PCR, DNA quantitation and handling, and DNA purification.
+ Maintain thorough, accurate, and detailed documentation of all work produced in batch records, databases, or other acceptable formats, including problems and deviations.
+ Update and write work instructions and documentation.
+ Work independently and maintain safety standards.
+ Ensure attention to detail for process consistency.
+ Document, troubleshoot, and address process deviations.
+ Package products.
+ Work in an ISO, GMP, LEAN manufacturing environment and follow lean manufacturing concepts.
+ Complete assigned tasks daily to keep manufacturing on track.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's/associate degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. Relevant laboratory experience will also be considered.
+ Familiarity or prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Proficient computer skills, including experience with Excel, Word, Jira/Confluence, and web-based programs.
