+ Develop methods, tooling and techniques to continuously reduce the time and effort involved in setting-up, changing over and operations of manufacturing equipment.

+ Assist in identification of departmental training requirements and may provide the training for improvement of skill levels.
+ Review, recommend and coordinate TPM, PM, Proactive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Programs to prevent equipment failures and maximize machinery uptime.
+ Take ownership, in conjunction with Quality Engineer, of PFMEA, Control plans and process flows.
+ Supports shop floor teams through daily interaction, problem solving skills and aiding in development of standard work instructions.
+ Manage outside contractors involved in process/equipment improvement.
+ Work closely with all levels of the organization to improve upon manufacturing machinery and process improvements.
+ Lead Kaizen activities, and document results.
+ Knows significant environmental aspects of the job and the related operational controls.

**Role Purpose**
Coordinate and lead execution of the company's 5-year industrial plan aligned with divisional strategy, ensuring that this encompasses relevant investments, capacity improvements, future demand forecasts & potential business wins, productivity improvements and relevant standards adherences. Key member of the site Leadership Team providing business support at plant level as well as feedback to function.
**Key Responsabilities:**
1. Benchmark manufacturing processes with other GKN sites and ensure that relevant plans are in place to close gaps.
2. Manage & lead capex requirements for the site, ensuring that local budgets are in line with divisional requirements.
3. Work with purchasing to ensure all equipment ordered (including spare parts) is compliant with divisional specifications and safety standards.
4. Ensure that all systems relating to manufacturing engineering are up to date and appropriate for the business needs and GKN requirements.
5. Ensure core process compliancy for site's key processes (ex. hardening, welding, assembly, etc).
6. Lead BPE (Business Process Excellence) projects to improve systems.
7. Plan and track capex spending and communicate status and phasing.
8. Consolidate all OGS budgets and track each area for compliance and improvements.
9. Provide a consolidated view of demand/capacity at plant level for the next 5 years, ensuring that actual v target is clear and with relevant improvement activities.
10. Compare customer data to iDash and manage any exceptions. - Respond to MS Divisional requirements with regard to - Capacity analysis, investment/capex requirements and other adhoc requests.
11. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Commercial functions to ensure SIOP and MPS are carried out for Capacity Management.
12. Lead the site non-productive stock management and implement improvement actions.
13. Lead implementation of industrial solutions to improve pp2.
14. Ensure that the manufacturing engineering team keep the routings and standard minutes up to date, including correct use of the Altea system.
15. Support NBA with process cost per part and investment and tooling cost requirements
16. Establish standard process and cycle times at SOP.
17. Ensure process delivers target performance at SOP.
18. Hand over MS deliverables at SOP; operator work instructions, PFMEA, stage-drawings, PPM etc).
19. Lead process-related CIMS projects
20. Provide input into the VA/VE system.
21. Support problem solving activities. - Actively encourage the participation of all engineers in identifying and realising improvement opportunities.
22. Manage engineering team and ensure work follows divisional process, procedure and standards.
23. Develop a diverse and inclusive team aligned to GKN philosophy.
