Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator, 1st Shift , reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, monitor, and facilitate the movement of components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely progression through our Vast locations.
  • Coordinate the physical transfer of components across various stages including purchasing, receiving inspection, inventory, and relevant work centers.
  • Coordinate outside processing of components and liaise with the purchasing team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support logistics operations by optimizing workflow staging as necessary.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of system data in collaboration with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to align with demands and schedules.
  • Generate and maintain reports highlighting requirements, milestones, and limitations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with schedulers, and managers to fulfill action requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and escalate issues promptly across various platforms and to specific stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues such as part shortages, purchase order delays, and discrepancies in BOM to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and the planning team on the release of runs.
  • Follow schedules through effective planning and shortage management coordination
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • 2+ years of Smartsheet.
  • Highly detail oriented and self starter.
  • Forklift experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
Pay Range:
  • Manufacturing Coordinator I: $18.00 - $5.00

In this position you will support production, development and continuous improvement efforts related to the manufacturing of TWTs, specifically the vacuum envelope. Stellant's industry leading space TWT & LTWTAs support a variety of spacecraft mission needs with over 4700 modern TWTs in orbit and 290 million operating hours. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for development, documentation, training, and technical support in key processes utilized to manufacture a TWTs. You will also develop an expertise in several unique manufacturing practices utilized to build space TWT. The role is heavily production lead, with focus on delivery targets to meet space program needs. Your work may be in a variety of technical and operational disciplines to perform general troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), develop manufacturing process improvements and design upgrades.
**Responsibilities**
+ Observe, evaluate and troubleshoot existing production problems
+ Develop an overarching understanding of the manufacturing processes that go into TWT vacuum hardware
+ Support operations personnel on day-to-day production needs
+ Support program management on technical issues and customer relations
+ Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop or troubleshoot designs to meet performance, cost and schedule metrics

**Qualifications**

+ Support of space or aerospace hardware preferred
+ Experience working with engineering drawings

  • Advanced working knowledge of SolidWorks, CATIA V5. SmarTeam, AUTOCAD is preferred.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (STARLINK) SpaceX is developing a low-latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. To provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineer to ensure the organization's objectives and goals are delivered. The Manufacturing Services Technician - Mechatronics is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on manufacturing assets and all associated production equipment located in production or assembly & test facilities.

People/skills who do well in the role: AS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Science, Certified ASC auto-mechanic, certified General Electricians.
• Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production equipment across a plant, site or business, to ensure that manufacturing equipment is safe, available and capable for use when required.
• Utilize precision diagnostic instruments during maintenance.
• Analyze equipment data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards maintenance
• Collect, organize, and analyze data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.
• Read and interpret machinery and component drawings, circuit/logic diagrams & schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable maintenance and diagnostics
• Identify and recommend improvements to production equipment and maintenance procedures. Research and implement improvements.
• Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the electrical installation / maintenance strategy
• Coordinate preventive and planned corrective maintenance activities with Production Staff, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators.

• Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard.

• Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience.
• Able to process Work Orders and pull reports from the Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Safely operate site specific equipment as require med with appropriate training
