**Description:**
PacSci EMC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and deliver the highest quality aerospace products to our customers. The ME II will be a key player on our team as we aim to ramp production over the next 5+ years.
**Responsibilities:**
1. The M.E. participates in the proposal preparation/review phase to ensure manufacturing process, tooling requirements, and risks are adequately defined and up-to-date. M.E. should verify manufacturing hours within the Engineering Master, and identify any missing tooling or equipment that would be needed to manufacture the job.
2. Upon contract award, the M.E. participates in the SO kickoff to verify consistency of the original proposal and Statement of Work. The M.E. should review the MP for corrections/validity and verify tooling/equipment required for the job exists or design new tools/equipment as needed.
3. The M.E. supports production on a daily basis, providing support necessary to keep the line running. The M.E. is responsible for tasks such as: disposition and evaluation of discrepant parts, clarification on manufacturing techniques, review of MP instructions/techniques for validity, evaluation of tooling, evaluation and adjustment of equipment parameters etc. When issues arise, the M.E. will notify the respective team members required (Cell Lead or QE) as needed.
4. M.E. ensures that Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) are complete for processes within their appropriate areas. Safety manages and controls the completed PHA's.
5. Productivity - M.E. should work to implement process/flow and tooling improvements to increase the productivity of the manufacturing cells.
6. Lean Implementation - Standard Work: The M.E. shall perform time studies and develop standard work documentation to dictate the process flow and operator loading of the respective manufacturing cells.
7. Process Ownership - The M.E. shall control the design of the process for how product is made in his/her manufacturing cell. The FFM or Cell Lead shall be responsible for process management, but the design and flow of the process is primarily a M.E. responsibility.
8. Tooling Design - The M.E. shall work with the drafting department to develop tooling or fixtures to aid in the manufacturing process. They will push to release the documentation and drawings for tooling and fixtures and order the tooling as needed.
9. Manufacturability - The M.E. shall aid in design reviews as necessary to help in the design of products that will be easily manufactured. They will provide insight to common manufacturing techniques and objections to design conditions that will not be realistic for a manufacturing environment.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications - External/internal:**
+ 3+ years of experience in a technical and manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace/defense industry.
+ Trained in GD&T
+ Expert in SolidWorks.
+ FactoryLogix MES experience is a plus!
+ Self-starter with excellent communication and team skills.
**Education and Experience:**
+ BS in engineering or technical discipline.

As a Manufacturing Engineer with Pacific Scientific EMC, you will be an integral part of a multidiscipline Integrated Product Team (IPT), and as a team will drive production contracts to on-time delivery.
The Manufacturing Engineer shall embed with Manufacturing Operations as the internal customer to provide day-to-day production support with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost control.
Additionally, you will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering department, assisting- and being assisted by- a team of fellow Manufacturing Engineers with varied subject matter expertise, experience levels, and assignments.
**Core Responsibilities** :
+ Review, interpret, and understand product Design Drawings and Test Procedure requirements as the basis for compliance in all other Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities.
+ Understand safety risks of materials and processes in manufacturing, assuring manufacturing procedures mitigate risk to personnel and facility in compliance with company safety standards. (Training provided).
+ Create and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Instructions, and in-process Buy-Off Documents to assure on-time release to support production scheduling.
+ Document, maintain, modify, create, and validate assembly hand tooling, fixturing, and certain manufacturing equipment.
+ Be first to investigate assembly non-conformance or other production issues, lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Identify, develop, and implement productivity improvements and efficiencies through focused internal events using a company structured continuous improvement system similar to Toyota Production Systems.
+ Identify, justify, and champion the development, validation, and implementation of self-led productivity improvements including automation opportunities.
+ Represent Manufacturing Engineering in design reviews, proposals, Sales Order Kick Offs, and customer visits as necessary to support assigned programs and products.
**Qualifications:**
+ Hands-on experience supporting a manufacturing environment, interpreting design drawings, creating and editing work instructions, and defining, supporting , and improving manufacturing processes.
+ Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software, with tooling design experience.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills.
+ Past experience in a regulated environment such as Military, Semiconductor, Medical, Aircraft, or Food Processing industries a plus.
+ A working knowledge of Toyota Production Systems, Six Sigma, Demming Cycle, Statistical Process Control, or other continuous improvement methodology a plus.
**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline. Military or industry experience and training will be considered in lieu of Bachelor of Science degree.

**Your Role:**
As a Mechanical Assembler you can expect to be our go-to for driving continuous improvement in the operations and assembly process. More specifically, in this role, you:
+ Work under direct supervision.
+ Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.
+ Set up and use analytical balance.
+ Perform inert assembly operations.
+ Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.
+ Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.
+ Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.
+ May have some basic soldering experience.
+ Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
+ Uses visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units. Receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
+ Install sub-assemblies.
+ Must display proficient dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.
+ All work is performed in explosive handling areas.
+ If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e. JSTD)

Qualifications:

+ 7-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within the aerospace industry.
+ Proficiency in CAD software would be a plus.
+ Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
+ Experience with AS9100 standards and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
+ Strong communication skills; able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, production staff, quality assurance personnel, and suppliers.

+ Install sub-assemblies.
+ Must display proficient dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.
+ All work is performed in explosive handling areas.
+ If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e. JSTD)
+ OT required for Friday and Saturday as needed.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

**Minimum Qualifications**

The Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Manager dynamically leads staff and function related to all aspects of laboratory management internally and externally, including raw material, in-progress material, and finished product testing. This position manages skilled laboratory personnel, aligns testing priorities with production goals, drives analytical excellence, collaborates with the other Company sites, ensures compliance to regulatory and company policies and procedures, and implements continuous improvement initiatives.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $126,550.56 - $89,825.85 per year less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. SCN BestCo offers a competitive benefits package to eligible full-time employees, which currently includes medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with employer matching contributions, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more, as well as paid sick leave in accordance with applicable law. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage all laboratory operations by proactively prioritizing and assigning laboratory work.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality and reliability to improve laboratory and manufacturing.
  • Review and approve documentation related to the technical transfer of new line introductions, customer specification, requirements, memos, and all other laboratory and operations related documents.
  • Oversee raw material, in-process material, and final product testing through data results reporting and review.
  • Manage laboratory budget and resources effectively.
  • Review and approve sample testing activities including leading Laboratory Out of Specification (OOS) investigations and driving OOS reductions.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for laboratory efficiencies, compliance, and effectiveness.
  • Manage vendor relationships for laboratory supplies and services in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Operational Logistics teams.
  • Author, review, revise, and maintain laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI).
  • Analyze, track, and report laboratory data and documents and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and precision of testing protocols to support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; annual qualification and instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair.
  • Participate in internal audits of QC labs and external customer, certification, and regulatory inspections/audits including timely responses, action plans, and resolution to prevent recurrence.

People Leader Responsibilities

This position carries out People Leader responsibilities in accordance with the Companys policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend personnel actions (pay adjustments, promotions, transfers, terminations).
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage individual performance.
  • Communicate personnel actions following Human Resources (HR) and Department Head approval.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are enforced and met.
  • Partner with HR to interview/screen potential new hires.
  • Organize training and development opportunities for direct reports.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in food science, chemistry, biology, or related field.
  • 8 years professional laboratory experience including quality control.
  • 5 years experience in leadership, supervision and/or management.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory practices, procedures, and systems.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV-Vis, ICP-MS, others).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, investigate, and document laboratory OOS results and provide resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management. Ability to respond professionally and scientifically to cross-functional partners, customers, regulatory agencies, certifying bodies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or Ph. D. in related field.
  • Prior experience with implementation and maintenance of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods, ISO, and/or GMP experience in dietary supplement or food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of USP methods and requirements.
  • Experience with lean laboratory practices.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Professional certification (CQE, CQA, or similar).
