Responsible for tooling improvements and enhancements and print review. Conduct daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed. Ensure that an effective communication with all interested and needed parties to complete projects on time and on budget. Evaluate all projects for effectiveness. Lead and support equipment troubleshooting efforts as they arise with the ability too efficiently and independently work with various U.S. and global suppliers. Maintain and/or support all related process documentation, not limited to but including repair logs, manuals, drawings, and procedures. Support new program launch development efforts for new products, product extensions, and equipment releases into the plants. Participate in product and equipment design reviews for the purpose of developing a robust product and manufacturing process. Prepare and obtain quotes and materials needed for manufacturing equipment changes or improvements. Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, or other TE departmental input such as TEOA toward process changes or improvements. Work and act in a professional manner with all levels of associates and interface with customers as required.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 4 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.

**Duties And Responsibilities**
+ Work schedule is 12-hour rotations.
+ First day of rotation mandatory pre-shift meeting/huddle 15 minutes before start of shift.

+ Associates are required to report nonconformance.
+ Ensure workspace is 5S ready, clean and orderly.
+ Associates are expected to know performance metrics and work toward targeted objectives.
+ May perform weekly associate maintenance.
+ Associates should proactively report any equipment issues as soon as they become aware.
+ Perform preventive maintenance procedures, may occasionally troubleshoot.
+ Assist RD&E with experiments as requested.
+ Loading and unloading raw materials. Attention to consistent material handling procedures with an awareness of safe material transport according to environmental and hazardous materials protocols.
+ Receiving materials to stock, storing, issuing raw materials and miscellaneous items for production use while maintaining inventory accuracy using cycle counts and daily transactions.
+ Properly label and package reels for shipment to customer.
+ Verify Quality Check paperwork, barcode and data sheets, with reel tag.

Production Quality Systems
  • Assist in maintaining and improving compliance to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3 standards

Qualifications

Education, Certifications, & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CSSBB) preferred but not required
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in a Quality Engineer role, preferably in automotive or transportation manufacturing
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and/or VDA 6.3 compliance and auditing
  • Experience supporting quality systems within a high-volume production environment
Technical Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel preferred;
  • ERP/MRP system experience helpful
  • Proficiency in Ignition and or Python desired
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA
  • Comfortable reviewing drawings, CAD prints, and inspection techniques

The manufacturing engineer position provides a crucial link between customer requirements and the final product that we deliver to our customers. The manufacturing engineer helps to define product specifications, develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes, and coordinate overall manufacturing/sourcing methods for both new and existing products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation of customer production specifications in the form of drawings (blueprints), text, samples or application requirements.
  • Analysis of product material and configuration specifications to determine suitability of form, fit and function.
  • Analysis of product specification and tolerance with regards to quality versus manufacturing process capabilities.
  • Determination of the manufacturing process including product structure (bill of materials), manufacturing routing(s), outside service processes and the application of manufacturing engineering standards.
  • Definition of product and raw material stock codes including description, invoked industry standards and revision levels.
  • Preparation of cost estimates in support sales and customer service to determine prices and subsequently acknowledge quotations to customers.
  • Preparation of factory documentation including drawings.
  • Design and development of primary and alternate manufacturing processes capable of complying with product design requirements.
  • Definition and application of product scheduling, parameters including calculation of lead time, definition of economic or other batch quantities and determine of material supply requirements.
  • Interfacing with production system and quality system personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's in industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the shift schedule.

**A Snapshot of Your Day**
A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes for new power generation turbine airfoil components. The position also provides ongoing shop floor support of non-conventional machining and related processes.
The ideal candidate is a proactive Manufacturing Engineer who will own product manufacturing from development through project completion. A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for developing conventional machining processes for engine ran and new power generation turbine components.
**How You'll Make an Impact**
+ Determine appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machines for optimized machining approaches to sophisticated, multi-axis milling production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components. Complete the development and implementation of manufacturing CNC programs for complex machining processes for multi-axis milling machines.
+ Assist and provide direction for design and development of fixturing for machining processes. Design specialty cutting tools for precision form milling.
+ Collaborate with management, product engineering, peer engineers, and operators to realize high quality, stable processes for complex, conventional machining production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components.
+ Project leadership of development and qualification projects (scheduling, design of experiments, experimentation, reporting, documentation) with full responsibility for due dates, results and costs associated with your field of activities. Review in process product quality control information (manual and CMM dimension checks) and work with production personnel to adjust production run machining processes.
+ Collaborate with production personnel to implement, fix, and **improve** machining and associated processes. Collaborate with Quality Engineer to conduct Root Cause Corrective Analyses. Communicate with customers to understand requirements and communicate process deviations (NCRs). Lead continuous process improvements (analysis, solution finding, implementation) around machining processes and methods. Perform and assess manufacturing data to determine opportunities for improvement and lead teams to efficiently implement changes.
+ Support quoting efforts by providing cost estimates. Review tooling inventory and adjust stocking levels based on production run usage. Lead and support CAPEX projects and value calculations.
**What You Bring**
+ 2-4 year degree in a related Engineering field.
+ 5+ years relevant and proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience.
+ Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and specifications.
+ Skilled in the use of Siemens NX & Teamcenter CAD/CAM systems and product data management systems. Knowledgeable in 4- and 5-axis milling machining processes.
+ Knowledgeable in programming, online and offline, of conventional milling machines.
+ Expert Knowledge in parametric model definition tools of NX and assembly modeling with interpart linking. Expertise in crafting component fixtures related to milling machining processes. Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook).
