What You'll Be Doing:
- Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.
- Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
- Operates forklift during routine performance of duties.
- Unloads, receives, inspects, and stages raw materials, scraps dunnage, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
- Removes finished products from the production areas ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications.
- Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas.
- Reviews warehouse production control schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.
- Ensures finished goods are properly documented for shipment.
- Stages and loads finished goods and materials in accordance with set procedure.
- Coordinates all processed scrap material. Bands, weights, and stores materials. Loads truck as necessary.
- Conducts inspection of and identifies routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Conducts pre-shift safety inspection.
- Stages unfinished goods (plate) in accordance with set procedure.
- Conducts inspection of materials used for packaging, and inspects trailers and air bags.
- Prepares documentation for incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods.
- Maintains accurate files, records, and logs of ingoing and outgoing materials.
- May coordinate and train handlers in their duties.
- May develop and maintain efficient procedures for receiving incoming materials, stock storage plan, stock storage allocation, first-in first-out (FIFO) material usage and product usage. Keeps current accounting of materials and finished goods.
- May coordinate with production planning manager to determine schedule information for warehouse operations.
- Access, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
- May coordinate with incoming and outgoing freight handlers to ensure efficient movement of materials and finished products through the plant.
- Communicates to responsible parties any machine malfunctions on assigned equipment.
- Performs record keeping duties as required.
- Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
- Performs clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
- Initiates, reviews, and follows all operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
- Required to work assigned schedule or 12-hour shifts, rotating days or nights, Monday through Sunday, working hours may vary as specified by management.

Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for the unloading, routing, and processing of incoming drums, tote tanks, containerized and/or palletized material from Branch locations. Is responsible for various functions including material transfers, waste check-in, AFS refurbishment, and tower operations. Is responsible for drum cleaning and filling or refilling, and for loading outbound trailers to Branch locations, Designated Receiving Facilities and/or customer locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions.
- Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all Hub employees and activity.
- Takes direction from Warehouse Supervisor and/or Drum Supervisor, as applicable.
- Unloads containerized material from inbound trailers in accordance with Company rules and regulations (unloading).
- Verifies inbound containers and container labeling are consistent with inbound paperwork and all applicable D.O.T. designations (waste checking)
- Verifies container labeling and directs inbound containers to appropriate staging areas (unloading).
- Cleans and Refurbishes inbound AFS machines (AFS refurbishing).
- Empties and cleans inbound reuse product containers and refills containers with clean solvent in preparation for outbound shipment, as needed (drum sucking/drum washing/drum filling).
- Unloads inbound solvent, reuse, used oil, or waste materials from tanker trucks and railcars (tank farm operation)
- Transfers materials into or between storage/holding tanks on site (tank farm operation/tower operation).
- Prepares materials and loads outbound trailers for Branch replenishment (loading).
- Loads outbound waste trailers for third party disposal (loader/waste checking).
- Fills outbound railcars and/or tankers with solvent, reuse, used oil, or waste materials for transport to customers or other Hub locations (tank farm operation).
- Operates and maintains distillation tower for optimum safe performance (tower operation).
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
