Our client is seeking 2 Material Handlers to join their team! This position is 100% onsite M-F and the shift is 7:00am-5:00pm, this position has overtime. Essential Functions Pulls orders and packages material for shipment to meet customer requirements using the forklift and other equipment. Ships orders to be delivered on the date requested by the customer. Receives branch-to-branch transfers, customer returns, and overseas containers within a strict time frame to ensure minimal turnaround times. Maintains warehouse and yard environments to provide the cleanest and safest environment possible. Duties and Responsibilities Safely operates forklifts; follows proper procedures to take care of forklifts and other equipment. Collects products from bins following the radio frequency (RF) system. Has product inspected for accuracy and quality. Packages products per client standards. Ability to use a RF scanner Completes all necessary RF functions to allow bills of lading to be created. Loads product onto carrier's vehicles. Unloads delivery vehicles and inspects deliveries for accuracy and quality. Sweeps floors; operates the floor scrubber. Collects and disposes of trash from warehouse and yard. Inspects bins, equipment, and warehouse for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions, and wears proper personal protective equipment. Accurately pulls orders and stocks inventory items in the correct bins. Processes approximately 900 order lines per month during busy times. Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc., to management. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education/Experience Required: Must have a high school diploma or GED 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasks 1-year experience driving a forklift Preferred: Experience in a warehouse/distribution center specializing in the waterworks industry or related products Experience with inventory tracking and radiofrequency systems Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: Required: Able to operate a forklift Excellent situational awareness Preferred: Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills Ability to prioritize effectively Excellent teamwork skills Basic computer experience Ability to pay attention to detail Bilingual (English/Spanish) Physical Demands Able to lift, move up, and carry materials up to 75 pounds Will be required to reach, stand, walk, or crouch during an 8-hour shift Must be able to be on feet continuously during an 8-hour shift Must be able to lift 75 lbs frequently during an 8-hour shift Must be able to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively during an 8-hour shift Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during an 8-hour shift Must be able to push and pull 300 lbs with a pallet jack / fed-ex and ups shipping carts frequently during an 8-hour shift Must be able to use wrist and hands frequently during an 8-hour shift Work Environment Able to work in various climate conditions Steel boots required Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required Saturdays may be mandatory to accommodate the business needs Attendance is important to convert Get the job done, attitude is needed Pay Details: $19.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan. Responsible for a variety of functions within the distribution center, such as receiving, stocking, loading and unloading merchandise, picking and operating heavy-duty equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Move units to the production lines
- Request Units from transporter
- Inspect and maintain our pickup area
- Charge dead battery and open incidents on units damaged in the parking lot
- Provide diesel to the lines needing it
- Maintain the yard-receiving, staging
- Work with Planning to make sure all units are okay to take to production
- Oversee the Maintenance Program (trucks exercising)
- Oversee the Lot Report
- Oversee breakdown units (TK, Carrier, flat tires, Rotex, Doggett)
