Responsibilities
- Assemble standard equipment and products under general supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The mechanical assembler is responsible for the evaluation and structural assembly of Overhead Cranes. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to produce a quality product in a timely fashion. The mechanical assembler is responsible for coordinating the general cleaning and preparation of mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
• Assemble all components and subassemblies; including, but not limited to gearboxes, electric hoisting motors, wire rope, drum assemblies, central lubrication systems (ability to install stainless steel tubing is a plus).
• Assemble/ Bolt up mechanical and structural sub-assemblies.
• Assemble/ Bolt up mechanical and structural sub-assemblies using the correct hardware/bolts per pre engineered drawings. This will vary for each project.
• Perform complex machine alignments using dial indicators and reverse indication alignment procedures. Previous millwright experience a plus.
• Perform bolt tightness/torque verification using various torquing tools.
• Rig and lift misc. machine components using chain and web slings.
• Provide daily updates to supervisor regarding work progress and conflicts.
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment to safely perform all work.
• Utilize Forklifts to safely transport heavy components throughout the production areas. (Previous forklift operating experience a plus).
• Utilize handheld power drills, impact tools, standard, and metric tape measures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school, trade school, or higher degree is preferred, however prior equivalent experience and training will be considered.
EXPERIENCE: At least 5 plus years of Industrial mechanical assembly.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Ability to read pre-engineered drawings. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends. Must be proficient in the use of Overhead Cranes.
Physical strength to lift and carry 50lbs occasionally.

Job Description
We are seeking a 1st shift detail oriented and reliable Mechanical Assembler responsible for the assembly and testing of enclosed drive gearboxes. This manufacturing role will consist of gear box assembly and subassemblies, as well as monitoring equipment and performing measurements, troubleshooting, and correcting errors. Experience with material traceability, batch production, and mechanical aptitude will be a big plus in this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs gear box assembly and test.
Reads blueprints, calipers and other measuring instruments, records dimensions, and other details on production logs.
Cleans and maintains work area and equipment organized, including tools.
Maintains a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Works with other facility teams (Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering) to ensure that assembly/test problems are addressed and resolved quickly.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Utilize safe work habits at all times.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly and testing areas.
Assist in identifying process improvements and contribute to team-based problem-solving.
Ensure compliance with facility-specific safety protocols and product standards.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial machinery assembly, or a related manufacturing role required.
Forklift operation experience required.
Material handling experience required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
Must be able to read assembly blueprints in English format.
Must be willing and able to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization.
Working knowledge of shop safety practices.
Understanding of quality assurance concepts, typically acquired through in-house training.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Adaptability and willingness to be cross-trained.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Comfortable working in a factory environment with temperature variations.
Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and repetitive movements for up to 12 hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
