Job Description
The Senior Inpatient Medical Coding Professional extracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes (e.g., ICD-10-CM, PCS) to patient records. This position works assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
**Responsibilities**
The Senior Inpatient Medical Coding Professional confirms appropriate diagnosis related group (DRG) assignments. Analyzes, enters and manipulates database. Responds to or clarifies internal requests for medical information.
Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
+ Reviewing staff monthly QA review variances
+ Daily inventory monitoring and assignment of escalated inventory
+ Research on guidelines - CMS, AMA, etc.
+ Training new coders/auditors
+ Responsible for updating and maintaining processes/resources/guidelines in OneNote & Mentor
+ Point of contact for coders/auditors
+ Assist coders with coding or technical issues
+ Team Engagement
+ Assist with assignments as appropriate per leader direction

**WORK STYLE:** Remote/work at home. While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
**WORK HOURS:** Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Start time is typically between 7AM-8AM EST.
Overtime might be offered but is not mandatory.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Experience with all of the following: Inpatient medical coding, analytics, health record security and privacy, HIPAA compliance, and data governance.
+ Hold at least one of the following AHIMA Coding Certifications: RHIT, RHIA, or CCS
+ Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
+ Experience implementing timely resolution to complex issues

Fairview is looking for a full time, night shift Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MLS/MT) for the Infectious Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory (IDDL) located in the Mayo building at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank ( . This is a 10-hour night shift (8:30 pm to 7:00 am) with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Schedule may change to meet the requirements of the department. Phlebotomy is not required for this position.
**This position is eligible for a Sign On Bonus of up to $5,500.** **This position is also eligible for a shift incentive bonus of up to $2,000 paid out every 6 months (bonus is pro-rated based on FTE).**
IDDL performs over 800,000 Microbiology and Virology tests annually. We span the spectrum from manual reading of bacteriology cultures to state of the art PCR testing. IDDL offers expertise in the following areas: Bacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, and Virology.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) functions independently in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. Fairview is looking for a Full Time Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Northeast Clinic Laboratories (1.0 FTE or 80 hours/2 week pay period). Primary site is M Health Fairview Clinic - Hugo, ( and a rotating weekend shift at an Urgent Care site, as well as the possibility of cross training at additional clinic sites including M Health Fairview Clinic - Vadnais Heights ( , M Health Fairview Clinic - Blaine ( , and M Health Fairview Clinic - Stillwater. ( Shifts are 8 hours in length and will primarily be the closing shift 9:30am to 6:00pm Monday-Thursday, 9:00am to 5:30pm Friday. This position is responsible for the production of high quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies.
