Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a crucial role in Medical Affairs at Bausch Health, being part of an exclusive field-based team of medical scientific experts that engages with external experts (key opinion leaders) and population-based healthcare decision makers including regional payors. Thus, the MSL has significant responsibility and is expected to provide in-depth scientific, clinical, and educational support to external experts, as well as to internal clinical, sales, marketing, and market access teams. In addition, the MSL provides scientific insights back to Medical Affairs management.
This specific MSL position should be based in an area that complements the existing team (NC/SC/GA) with a large percentage of business in the Atlanta, GA and Raleigh, NC areas.
The MSL should have an in-depth understanding of areas related to Gastroenterology to support both approved and pipeline compounds. The MSL may be responsible for covering multiple products and engaging in broad scientific discussions surrounding patient outcomes and total cost of care. Further, the MSL should have experience in the appropriate exchange of scientific information related to products with boxed warnings and REMS programs in place.
Responsibilities:
+ Build and maintain solid and credible relationships with the medical community on Bausch Healths behalf in both Academic and Community settings, especially inGastroenterology.
+ Follow all applicable policies and procedures related to MSLs.
+ Provide education relative to disease state and the Bausch Health Gastroenterology products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers.
+ Provide external expert insights and observations to the medical affairs organization on a timely basis.
+ Help to ensure that external expert speakers have access to Bausch Health data.
+ Be well versed in the current therapeutic areas in which Bausch Health specializes.
+ Where appropriate, provide overall medical / scientific support through the dissemination of on-label educational, scientific, and clinical information on diseases and its treatment, for training purposes only.
+ Responds to unsolicited requests for investigator-initiated research and supports submissions through appropriate channels.
+ In response to appropriate requests, disseminate to physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals state-of-the-art on-label research and medical concepts related to the treatment and management of diseases of interest to the company.
+ Responds to unsolicited requests for Medical Information through appropriate channels.
+ When appropriate, represent Bausch Health at continuing educational events / programs, medical meetings and conventions.
+ Provide presentations to population-based healthcare decision makers and regional payors as requested.
Qualifications:
+ Advanced degree, PhD, PharmD, or MD required.
+ Minimum 1-year MSL experience preferred.
+ Prior experience as a field medical science liaison in gastroenterology and/or hepatology is preferred.
+ Knowledge and experience engaging with population-based healthcare decision makers including regional payors is a plus.
+ Established relationships with Gastroenterology external experts is highly desire.
+ Must reside in territory (NC/SC/GA).
+ 60-70% travel required.
The range of starting base pay for this role is $136K 187K. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.

+ Effectively utilizes the Scientific Engagement Model to plan territory and individual stakeholder (Key Opinion Leaders, payers, HCP etc.) medical strategy and engagement interaction plans consistent with the field medical activity plan and medical function priorities.
+ Organizes educational meetings or local scientific advisory boards when requested.
+ Support speakers training to ensure continued scientific support in the field.
+ Responds to unsolicited request for medical information associated with supported products and disease state area.
+ Gathers data and generates insights from stakeholder interactions and provides feedback to the organization
+ Critically and routinely evaluate and discern from the information gained from published studies, and stakeholder interactions to develop key insights that deepen our understanding of the market's needs and opinions of external stakeholders and therefore contribute to enhancement of Sanofi's scientific messages, plans, strategy, systems, and product development.

**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our talented team as a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL). Kite MSLs are responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with current and future hematology/oncology thought leaders (TLs) and other health care providers in academic and community practices. MSLs are field-based and report to a Regional Lead of MSLs within the Medical Affairs department. This role will support Western Pennsylvania (ie Pittsburgh), Cleveland Ohio, and West Virginia. Candidates should live within or close proximity to this geography.
**Job Responsibilities**
+ Engage in peer-to-peer scientific exchange of complex clinical and scientific information
+ Develop and foster strong scientific relationships with TLs, disease experts, and other health care providers (HCPs)
+ Provide clinical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups
+ Compliantly provide internal teams with feedback and insights from interactions and discussions with HCPs
+ Engage in study accrual enhancement activities with clinical trial sites
+ Provide support at professional meetings, including staffing exhibits, reporting on scientific sessions, and facilitating meetings with Thought Leaders and HCPs
+ Adhere to corporate and health care compliance guidance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
+ Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in hematology/oncology and the company's therapeutic areas of interest
+ Represent the company and Medical Affairs during exchanges with the medical and scientific community
+ Establish and maintain ongoing long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs (including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals) within assigned territory
+ Respond to and document unsolicited requests for scientific information
+ Provide clinical input and training to internal functions as requested
+ Provide support for content development and delivery of clinical presentations at Advisory Boards, as requested
+ Work closely with other field-based employees and headquarters-based staff to rapidly respond to questions from sites in the territory
**Basic Qualifications**
Doctorate degree and 2+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, healthcare or academia
OR
Master's Degree and 8+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, healthcare or academia
OR
Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, healthcare or academia
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Doctorate degree or healthcare license/certification (RN, RPh, PA, etc.)
+ Previous MSL, Medical Affairs, and/or other industry experience
+ Existing relationships with institutions, practices, and/or hospitals in territory
+ Previous work experience in CAR-T cell therapy, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Lymphomas, Leukemias, and/or Myeloma.
+ Working understanding of hospital and community practice hematology/oncology departments and systems in the territory
+ Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment
+ Exceptional organizational and time management skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills including excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication
+ Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe®
+ Ability to travel frequently (50-70%), including overnight travel
+ Resides within territory or close proximity

The salary range for this position is: $191,250.00 - $247,500.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. As an Advanced AI Research Scientist, you formulate real-world problems into practical, efficient, and scalable AI and Machine Learning problems.
+ You lead a team and provide guidance to explore and implement new methodologies, model building techniques, and cutting-edge algorithms, and applying these techniques with the right architecture to solve real-world problems.
+ You have a deep understanding and ability to remain at the forefront of generative AI, LLM, and multi-modal models (with a focus on driving innovation by applying these techniques to new business problems, use cases, and scenarios).
+ As needed by the specific problem, you train and/or fine-tune generative AI models and evaluate on the specific problem.

+ Design, develop and implement advanced AI/ML models, especially LLM and other Gen AI models from scratch or existing foundation models via self-supervised learning, transferred-learning, and fine-tuning techniques.
+ Design, develop and implement highly sophisticated Gen AI based applications including generative agent and similar architectures which support multiple Gen AI models to work together for complex tasks.
+ Lead technical teams and grow true AI expertise within broader team including offshore
+ Collaborate seamlessly with diverse, cross-functional teams to accurately identify and prioritize requirements, ensuring that the AI solutions meets the needs and expectations of various stakeholders.
+ Develop and execute an AI solution project plan with team, timeline, and infrastructure dependency.
+ Define and implement a value justification approach to the AI solutions; estimate solution cost with right technological choices; and calculate ROI.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation that comprehensibly captures the intricate details of the solution, capture IP, facilitating seamless understanding, knowledge transfer and future development.
+ Collaborate with academia partners to stay on the cutting edge of AI, especially Gen AI technologies, provide through leadership on AI trend, AI use case innovation trend, new AI opportunities, or foreseeable limitation, risks, and concerns.

Here's What You Need
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and developing neural network models, especially deep learning model, and Foundation models.
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience of experience in building, fine-tuning Foundation models including LLMs and multi-modal models.
+ Minimum of 4 years of strong working knowledge of the different technologies, their differences, modalities in the Generate AI space.
+ Minimum of 4 years of working knowledge and familiarity with different LLM driven application architecture patterns.
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience in deep learning and neural networks, in particular training and large language models with popular libraries and GPUs.
+ Minimum of 4 years of working knowledge of computer architecture, and familiarity with the fundamentals of GPU architecture.
+ Minimum of 4 years of proven experience with processor and system-level performance modelling.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience of technical team management or team mentoring.
