We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients. Key Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing:

4. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including prescription details and insurance information.
- Assist in billing processes and verify insurance eligibility for prescription claims.

5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.

6. Remote Responsibilities:
- Engage in telepharmacy services, including remote consultations and patient follow-ups as needed.
- Utilize pharmacy management software and digital communication tools to manage prescriptions and patient inquiries effectively.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions Transports medications (excluding those medications handled through the pharmacy's controlled substance distribution system), IV's, TPN's, Chemotherapy, medication cassettes, other pharmacy supplies and equipment to the nursing units and clinics. Returns discontinued and outdated medications from the Omnicells to the Pharmacy. Replaces CPR cart medications following Dr. Cart events. Transfers patient specific medications from the Omnicell on the discharged unit to the Omnicell on the unit to which the patient has been transferred. Rotates through all work areas of the pharmacy department, works as a team player to achieve pharmaceutical care for the patient, fills, first doses, restocks and patient specific medications from the carousels, performs monthly nursing unit, clinic and pharmacy area inspections as directed, maintains work areas (IV Room, UD Area, Manufacturing area, store rooms, pharmacy satellites) by restocking and cleaning as needed, answers phone calls Triages phone communication appropriately and according to policy, collects quality assurance data and maintains workload records as required, performs other patient and/or drug related duties within the legal scope of their licensure as assigned by the pharmacist and/or supervisor. Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist including: prepackaging bulk medications byfilling unit dose-specific syringes and vials of medications for both adult and pediatric patients, compounded oral suspensions and Grade One mouthwash.
