We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Director (Leader) to join our dynamic team at Sacoma Specialty Products, a leading metal fabrication and manufacturing company. As the Sales Director (Leader), you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by strategically overseeing the sales process and actively engaging with existing and potential customers to promote our products and services. Below is a description of some of the responsibilities and duties of the Sales Director (Leader) role. The Sales Director (Leader) reports directly to the Executive Vice President and will be a member of the Leadership Team. Travel will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets and objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships to ensure Sacoma is the preferred supplier of metal fabricated assemblies (in the defense, medical, off highway, power generation markets).
  • Oversee internal sales support functions such as quoting and customer pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
  • Utilize your industry knowledge to stay informed about market trends, competitors, and customer needs.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable. Clearly define expectations and manage to them within Sacomas core values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the metal fabrication manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in managing and leading a sales team.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in CRM software
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven individual with a passion for sales.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $110,000 - $50,000 base salary depending on experience and qualifications

Summary of Essential Functions:

Metal Fabrication Production
  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic metal fabrication equipment
  • Execute/document production through MRP system
  • Regular preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Inspect quality of work and complete associated documentation, ensure high quality workmanship and products
  • Shearing/punching aluminum
  • Maintain a neat orderly Sign Shop and lot
  • Organize and track applicable inventory
  • Assist managers with quarterly inventory
Kitting/Inventory Control
  • Responsible for pulling all parts of an order together, using the work order provided, and staging all parts in a designated location ready to go for sign manufacturing. This includes all aluminum parts; sign faces or rolls of reflective sheeting if needed.
  • Keeping good inventory records of sheeting in the warehouse.
  • Helping logistics warehouse incoming product.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Metal fabrication
  • Operation of manual, semi-automated or CNC equipment
  • Required to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds

Summary: The Metal Manufacturing Training Specialist will organize, facilitate, and deliver training programs for front-line representative employees including clerical, supervisory, technical, and lower-level management staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Metal Manufacturing Training Specialist must be a self-motivator, work independently, and be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various manufacturing processes including but not limited to metal fabrication, assembly, metal tacking, welding, and process control.
  • Researches and identifies areas in which training is required and/or beneficial.
  • Evaluates and modifies existing or proposed programs; suggests and implements suitable changes.
  • Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials.
  • Collaborates with management to deliver training.
  • Administers, scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests; arranges retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
  • Facilitates delivery of training by setting up manufacturing cells with required parts and equipment; demonstrates correct processes; monitors and provides feedback to trainees; and performing other related tasks.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field (MBA or technical certifications a plus).
+ 10+ years of experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing, with at least 7 years in a plant leadership role.
+ Proven track record of leading plant modernization, lean transformations, or operational turnarounds.
+ Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and equipment (e.g., CNC, press brake, welding, laser/plasma cutting).
+ Experience with ERP/MES systems and data-driven decision-making.
+ Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

A day in the life:

  • Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment

  • Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to product being fabricated

  • Locate and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets

  • Shape metal over anvils, blocks, or forms, using hammer

  • Set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts together

  • Smooth seams, joints, or burred surfaces, using files and portable grinder or buffer

  • Install assemblies according to blueprint specifications using tools

  • Erect air handling equipment

  • Operate shop forklift to lift or transport equipment, material, and supplies as necessary

  • Loads and unloads materials from trucks and into buildings

  • Furnishes experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies

You should have:

  • Knowledge of sheet metal industry or willingness to learn

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including unscheduled overtime (nights and weekends)

  • Reliable source of transportation to and from work

  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fraction, and multiplication)
