Sun River Health is currently seeking full time Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Brentwood.
A Nurse Practitioner, under the direction of the of a physician, is responsible for planning, evaluating and delivering the health care of patients on assigned service. Emphases preventative health measures and education of patients. She/he will perform other duties as assigned and in compliance with systems and job specific standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Nurse Practitioner:
- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
- Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
- Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD's.
- Attends case conferences involving patients.
- Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
- Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
- Identifies and categorizes each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
- Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and overseen by Infection Control Officer.
- Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
Minimum Education Requirement: Master's Degree
Minimum Work Related Experience: 5-8 years; 4 years of business office experience, preferably in a large medical practice with increasing levels of responsibility.
Preferred Work Experience: 8+ Years
Minimum Licensure: Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and CPR/BLS
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
- Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education)
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred

Here at Thrivewell Infusion, we believe that personalized care ensures that every patient’s medical needs are maintained throughout the continuum of care; from intake, assessment, and treatment through the completion of their visit. Our primary focus will be administering the delivery of biologic medications (e.g. Remicade, Tysabri, Tepezza, etc…), but we also offer a full range of non-oncologic infusion services, including, but not limited to, antibiotics, hydration, vitamins, iron, and steroids.
You will be the primary, independent practitioner tasked with safely and efficiently delivering infusion therapy to our customers suffering from chronic diseases and acute medical illnesses. We welcome NPs from all medical backgrounds with a positive attitude, outstanding IV skills, and a current New York Registered Nursing license required. We are currently hiring on a full time / per diem basis for our ambulatory infusion centers located throughout the New York area hour of operation are M-F, 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sa/Su on an as needed basis.

- Preparation of IV Infusions in accordance with clinical protocols
