Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Responsibilities
- Conduct live and interactive clinical assessments of patients, providing treatment protocols, prescribing or recommending behavioral medications and providing medication management in long term care facilities
- Work closely with our collaborating psychiatrists where required by state law or independently but within an interdisciplinary team including other nurse practitioners, psychologists, clinical pharmacists and physicians
- Complete patient notes in our Electronic Health Records system
- Virtually provide in-service education at facilities; participate in staff meetings as needed
- Provide consultation to facility staff on nursing practice and psychopharmacology including writing orders for medications, as appropriate
- Participate in case reviews, consultations and utilization review
- Respond to urgent calls from the facility and facilitate problem-solving
- Advanced practice nursing degree from an accredited university
- Valid NP license for the state in which you practice or in the process of obtaining it (may be asked to obtain multi-state licensure)
- State-controlled substance license or in the process of obtaining it; DEA certificate or in the process of obtaining it
- Hold a collaborative agreement or attestation with physician in accordance with the regulations of the state in which you practice
- Able to meet the credentialing requirements of MediTelecare and your assigned facilities
- Able to become credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid, and other payers as necessary

The Nurse practitioner will provide health care services to patients and as needed to support medical and safety efforts at site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Employee Care, Treatment and Testing:
- Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate standards and laws
- Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational care consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws.
- Performs regulatory testing, TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, drug testing if required.
- Performs wellness based testing and screening such as bio-metric (Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, etc) screening, Flu-Shots, and coaching for programs such as Smoking Cessation, Weight-loss and other company specific campaigns or seasonal programs such as Allergy Prevention including education and shots.
- Coordinates employee health screening and surveillance programs including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams and substance of abuse screenings.
- Coordinates Travel Care and vaccinations to support global travel
- Provides return-to-work clearances as appropriate.
- Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences
- Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives
- Work with ergonomist on resolving ergonomic issues with client company employees

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia with national certification
- Must have current DEA license
- Current ACLS/BLS certifications
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine experience preferred.

Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider reports directly to the Director of Clinical Practice and/or the Area Clinical Practice Manager. Qualifications

About the Role
In this vital hospital-based position, the APP will collaborate closely with oncologists and hospital staff to manage the care of admitted oncology patients. You ll play a key role in supporting continuity of care, evaluating patient needs, and implementing treatment plans in a setting that values quality, collaboration, and compassion
Round on inpatient oncology patients in a hospital setting
Conduct clinical assessments, order appropriate diagnostics, and manage treatment interventions
Collaborate with the oncology team, nursing staff, and hospitalists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner using the EMR
Serve as a liaison between the inpatient team and outpatient care providers
Support patients and families through complex treatment journeys with professionalism and empathy
Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Virginia
Oncology experience required (inpatient oncology experience strongly preferred)
Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and bedside manner
