- Examine and treat chronic and acute episodic wound-related illnesses and accidents, minor injuries, and accidents.
- Interpretation of diagnostic tests and recommendation of appropriate follow-up.
- Refer to and update physicians, write prescriptions, and perform bedside procedures associated with wound care.
- Work with the medical director in the care and treatment of residents and staff.
- Debridement of wounds by sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical methods is able to be safely completed in the place of patient visit and all associated procedures to complete the debridement.
- Application and management of topical wound care and associated wound management products.
- Direction and recommendation of associated services to improve wound healing outcomes.
- Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on current wound management practices.
- Proof of Covid vaccination.
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state.
- Current Active, unrestricted state APRN license or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Current approval by the Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
- Master's degree of Nursing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to stand and walk for 4+ hours
- Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen residents.
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.

Essential Functions:
- Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.
- Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition. Provides written home-going instructions.
- Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
- Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
- Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
- Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
- Educates and coaches nursing staff on best nursing practices.
- May require other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- All RN licenses/certificates to practice
- All nurse practitioner licenses/certificates to practice
- State Prescriptive Authority (if applicable)
- Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable)
- State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico) (New York ROPES registration)

- CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer or ACLS-the copy must include the front and back of card as applicable) Certification must include “hands on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. The location is within Durham and Raleigh, NC. This area provides all year outdoor living, several universities, culture, reasonable cost of living and good school systems.
Compensation: Base salary range, plus a production bonus plan. Additionally, there is a full benefits package provided which includes a 401k profit sharing plan.

Experience:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide education to patients and caregivers regarding the diagnosis, treatment plan, risk and benefits, side effects and logistics of radiation therapy

- Perform clinical assessments and management for patients with no scheduled appointments
