The licensed practice nurse (LPN) is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned areas in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the registered nurse.
The LPN will demonstrate basic nursing techniques and procedures following the established medical protocol. Works with medical staff, pharmacy, nursing, and other clinical staff to ensure the highest coordination of services. Assess consumers for mental health needs and fulfill all charting requirements. Completes complex computer-based documentation. Must be able to learn and provide nursing services in accordance with various policies, including State of Georgia, CARF, etc. Communicates information in a clear, concise manner and elicits consumer's participation in discussion

The Nurse Manager of the BHCC provides direction and supervision to the BHCC nursing and clinical support staff by coordinating the delivery of patient care, maintaining quality assurance by assisting in the formulation and implementation of nursing policy and procedures, and working as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and others at LBHS. Working Conditions:
Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.
Work Environment: Employee works in a locked facility with patients who can be a danger to themselves and others. He/she must be able to restrain patients in crisis and other situations, and to work shifts. Employees in this position may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from persons served or the working environment. Incumbents may be required to work extended periods of time at computer terminals. They may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric and /or deceased patients.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Must be able to lift fifteen to twenty-five pounds and endure extended periods of standing on a daily basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching as well as lifting and supporting the individuals served.

POSITION SUMMARY
This key organizational position creates and maintains a living environment that displays courtesy and respect for each resident while providing personal care and assisting with all activities of daily living. Performs duties in a manner that enhances the resident's dignity, self-esteem, mental and physical well-being. Provides care that is responsive to the needs of the residents. Provides quality care in compliance with all state and regulatory statutes. Provides responsive and compassionate care which is individualized for each resident. Fulfills responsibility to the organization by adhering to its philosophy and general policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Certified Nursing Assistant License is required
- CPR & First Aid Certification required
- Recent (within last one (1) year) experience in Long Term Care Setting is preferred
- Ability to read, write, perform simple calculations, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to communicate clearly with, and care for a variety of people • Flexible in scheduling and assignments.
- Evidence of personal health and hygiene.
- Annual skills assessment and training.
- Ability to operate IPADS/medication tablets, telephone, intercom system, calculator, and beeper.

- 16 Hours In-service Training required by the Department of Community Health.
Works primarily in long-term care setting. Requires considerable standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of fifty (100) lbs.), pushing objects (carts, beds, and wheelchairs). Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases. May rarely require accompanying and assisting with patient transport to another facility. Uses medical, office equipment, and telecommunicates devices on a regular basis (e.g., , fax, computer, and pagers). Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).
