The Senior Manager HRBP - SR&D partners with senior leadership across Scientific Research & Development and globally Research & Science to help drive Reynold's People vision and strategy. This role will be instrumental in shaping our culture, supporting our business strategies, and developing the talent pipeline necessary to deliver on our objectives. You will be responsible for ensuring that leaders of people and individual contributors across our SR&D teams are informed and prepared with the information, tools and resources to actively bring our Core Values to life. The role will be expected to leverage best-in-class HR practices to lead, develop, deliver, and support programs that continue to make Reynolds a "Great Place to Work."
**Your key responsibilities will include:**
+ Employee Support for all SR&D G37 & Below Employees
+ Primary strategic partner to SR&D Extended Leadership Teams in deploying HR Strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions.
+ Serve as a steward of HR Cycle Plan Activities (talent management & rewards processes) for SR&D to ensure executional excellence.
+ Partner with Global R&S HRBP to align talent process and ways of working. This requires a high level of interaction with global stakeholders and a thorough understanding of the interdependences between SR&D and global R&S.
+ Partner with Talent & OE team to Build Functional and Leadership Capability building plans for SR&D.
+ Partner with SR&D Extended Leadership Teams to deploy SR&D Engagement Strategy (strong focus on empowerment and driving a listening culture).
+ Partner with Extended SR&D LT to strategically design & deliver a fit-for-future-SR&D OD for the G36 and below levels. Support OD transformational projects for SR&D ensuring BAT OD Principles, Governance Process and Talent Principles are embedded in planning & execution.
+ In addition to those responsibilities, this role provides leadership for driving the successful execution of the following for all of SR&D:
+ Ownership of Rewards Cycle Plan activities for SR&D.
**What are we looking for?**
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in progressively responsible roles within human resources, including human resources business partner or "generalist" roles.
- Previous rotation in a specialist role is a plus. Experience
- Knowledgeable in leading edge business practices, trends and information; aware of reward and benefits strategies and innovative tactics being applied in the marketplace.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop individuals at all levels and with an array of skill sets.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in business, human resources or a related field preferred.
- Decisive, demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting demands (most critical - will be used when advertising the role)

With limited supervision from the R&D Director, the R&D Manager is responsible for managing analytic labs, supporting technical services at mills and converters, and leading product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical analysis of samples using FTIR, GCMS, Optical Microscope, and all Tappi-based test equipment.
- Lead investigations utilizing both internal and external analytical resources.
- Provide expertise in board and converting to offer recommendations based on sample analytics.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot board, coating, converting, and printing technical issues.
- Support new product development (NPD) initiatives for the mill division and AMC as needed.
- Conduct competitive analysis including board comparisons, business models, competitor capabilities, and future capacity.
- Offer technical insight into proposed capital equipment installations.
- Establish and maintain key relationships with suppliers.
- Assist in the development of existing and new GPI packaging concepts, focusing on manufacturability.
- Lead coating, calendaring, and wet-end trials at mills.
- Develop cost models for new paperboard machinery and processes, including capital estimation and requirements.
- Provide engineering expertise to support R&D activities aligning with new business objectives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on customer commitments and timelines.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on project progress to senior staff and customers.
- Engage with customers during concept, design, and process development phases for new packaging initiatives.
- Expertise in paper and paperboard physical properties and coating technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and safely operate in a manufacturing environment, including handling industrial chemicals and machinery.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, teams, and executive leadership.
- Willingness to travel (1-2 trips per month).

A brief overview The Research and Development Manager serves a cross functional role within the organization. This individual drives research and development activities with his/her creativity, enthusiasm and expertise in peptide chemistry. He/she makes key contributions to maintain and increase the technical skill level for the efficient production of peptides and holds responsibility for the process development and manufacturing of peptides and other novel products. What you will do Plan, prioritize and oversee synthesis of catalog and custom products Evaluate new technologies for the benefit of peptide production Investigate new processes and products Improve processes for existing products- economy, safety and ecology Explore and apply new technologies and instrumentation for peptide manufacturing (e.g. using automation) and facilitate implementation in Production Supervise and guide staff to meet quality requirements and timelines, and to comply with SOPs Evaluate performance of staff and train staff Make conscious and efficient use of resources Document results for the benefit of production and other departments Stay on top of new developments in commercial peptide synthesis Present concepts and results during discussions with customers Qualifications Master's Degree in organic chemistry or biochemistry with relevant work experience PhD in organic chemistry (preferred) Minimum 3 years’ experience in peptide chemistry in an industrial setup Management experience from previous role(s) (preferred) Thorough understanding of the peptide manufacturing process and equipment Proven track record of scientific achievements Broad knowledge of modern organic chemistry Routinely work with hazardous materials and manage hazardous waste in a satellite accumulation area Excellent written and oral communication skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems Ability to work independently and manage one’s time Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment Base Annual Salary Range: Manager $126,800 - $74,350 Sr. Manager: 136.640 - 187,880 Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
