Responsibilities

  • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
  • Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
  • Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Inventory software is preferred.

    • Safely operate Combilift, forklifts or other machinery in order to complete
      assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders
      and transporting material.
    • Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
    • Accurately pull daily orders.
    • Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
    • Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products
    • Must be able to read a tape measure .
    Qualifications:
    • Forklift experience.
    • Great attention to detail and accuracy - be able to stand and work on your feet throughout shift as normal routine
    • Identify and read tickets, SKU’s, UPC labels and reports

Material Handler

What is a material handler?

The material handler works in the warehouse coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. This position also prepares items for shipment and may receive incoming merchandise or material for the preparation of shipment. The material handler will load and unload delivery trucks, pull materials from shelves, and move items from warehouse to production. They will ensure production areas are fully stocked and have the materials they need to meet production schedules and fulfill orders to move quickly.

In this role, you will:

  • Resolve any material needs, solving material problems and inventory control issues as they arise
  • Update computer generated inventories and documents
  • Follow inspection procedures
  • Adhere to procedures required for stores/materials documents and shipping and receiving documents
  • Perform warehouse control, inventory control and related duties
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure the proper flow of work and materials
  • Load and unload shelves using forklifts and other moving equipment
  • Organize and clean warehouse
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Abilities:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control
  • Operating a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of computers
  • Pass crane training & forklift training
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes associated with cleaning products dust and warehouse conditions
  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
