Job Summary
The Packing Lead manages workflow, provides direction to the department’s employees for day-to-day production. They will be responsible for accurate counting of received product from vendors, matching with purchase orders, and packaging of completed jobs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the loading, packing, and shipping of products, ensuring shipments match the pick ticket and are labeled correctly.
- Physically handle shipments, including moving, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and organizing packages.
- Operate hand pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Ensure all shipments are properly packed and labeled according to specifications
- Conduct routine equipment checks (pallet jacks, forklifts, shipping tools) to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Assist in receiving and processing incoming shipments per company protocols.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and company procedures are followed in the shipping process.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying the contents of shipments and resolving discrepancies.
- Assists in using the ERP System to track and confirm shipped orders.
- Assists in tracking backorder paperwork and outstanding shipments.
- Assists in managing shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, invoices, and packing slips.
- Assists in communicating with carriers and internal teams about shipping timelines.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to be forklift certified.
- Telephone communication skills for internal purposes.
- Fluency in English communication skills.
- Well organized, detail oriented.
- Ability to accurately compute proportional measurements and spacing using a ruler or tape measure.
- Ability to accept and adapt to change, work under pressure.
- Some mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with your hands.
- Basic computer skills – email, some knowledge of Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent in experience and training.
- One year receiving and warehouse experience in a production-manufacturing environment.

Must be able to lift 55 pounds safely and routinely
Must follow Food plant cGMP’s, food or pharma plant experience is a plus
Forklift license is a plus
Must be punctual and reliable and willing and able to work OT
Job is Monday – Friday 7AM - 3:30 (we have some flexibility on this )
Saturdays may be required usually up to 4 times per year max.
Will be in charge of Master Sanitation Schedule – this includes sweeping, mopping, dusting warehouse, cleaning Warehouse, sweeping roof once a week, cleaning outside building daily, cleaning spills in facility as needed, other light facility tasks as needed
Will learn and perform packing of powder in 50 pound boxes and liquids up to 55 pounds in pails and 55 gallon drums.
Must be able to read and write English and properly write down long numbers on Batch Tickets
Will have to perform and record pH checks twice a day on our water discharge
Must be willing to shave facial hair twice a year to participate in required respirator fit test for N95 and 3M respirator use .
Pay rate is $21 - $22.80 to start

Job Description
This is an Operations position responsible for supervising the activities associated with the general maintenance, repair, and appearance of the facility, outside grounds, security, power industrial equipment technicians and third-party providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, expense management, compliance with government regulations, ensuring safety and security of the building, its contents and people and management and direction to facility maintenance staff.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Manages the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), automation, and security.
+ Oversees labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
+ Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
+ Coordinates emergency response or crisis management activities, develops and maintains liaisons with local emergency management and other entities to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination and assists Safety Manager with training initiatives.
+ Supervises the proper selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of Company assets in support of the facilities, beverage department, and power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Automation, and security departments. Coordinates with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
+ Develops business relationships to ensure communication and efficient operations with third-party vendors, including but not limited to, janitorial, pest services, security, external contractors, facility maintenance and beverage.
+ Maintains current certificate of insurance and hold harmless agreements for all contracted vendors.
+ Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within facility maintenance, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security.
+ Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings including: ammonia refrigeration system, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire protection and security systems, electrical and energy management, dock doors/dock plate systems, power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Automation, building components (roof, interior and exterior floors/walls, doors, paved surfaces and landscaping).
+ Handles, assignments, and monitors department projects for quality and timely completion.
+ Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management.
+ Conducts audits ensuring all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately (including but not limited to food safety documentation, EPSM, PSM, GFSI, etc.) and retained to ensure a minimum potential for loss.
+ Preserve associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.
+ Maintains on-going interaction.
+ Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale, and submits and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
+ Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
+ Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
+ Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
+ Execute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
+ Performs the duties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed.
+ Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc.)
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
**Experience**
+ 5 years maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
**Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations**
+ Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards.
+ Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
+ Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification required, or must obtain within 60 days of employment and pass on the first try as a condition of employment. Level 2 is preferred.
+ HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required or must obtain within 60 days of employment and pass on the first try as a condition of employment.
+ Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required.
+ Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months.
**Professional Skills**
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
+ Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
