Work Schedule:Monday thru Friday, weekends and holidays as needed variable hoursSupervises and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in collection, processing, and performing automated and manual clinical diagnostic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Communicates problems and actions to the appropriate member(s) of management (if applicable). Plans, designs, and implements installation of new or improved laboratory techniques in conjunction with division management.Establishes standards, normal values, and methods of control for each laboratory test performed in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies and in conjunction with clinical/medical leadership. Reviews current literature to keep informed of new developments in the fieldCoordinates and conducts education and training programs for personnel. Develops training/competency checklists and provides clinical orientation and/or training of new employees/students. Supports Education Department personnel/trainers and/or designee in the training/orientation of new staff members.Develops and maintains department Standard Operating Procedures according to CLSI guidelines as appropriate.Plans for effective utilization of resources (space, time, personnel, budget and equipment). Maintains an accurate workload recording system and prepares productivity reports as requested. - Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
