  • Team Management:
    • Plan, organize, and oversee the work of staff to ensure alignment with organizational requirements and core values. Lead, train, and mentor warehouse associates maintain a positive and productive work environment. 
  • Daily Operations:
    • Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities and freight forwarding operations across ocean, ground and some air, including picking, packing, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Implement schedule and policy changes as needed.

  • Quality Control:

  • Reporting:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS):

  • Customer and Shipper Complaints:
    • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints. 
    • Act as escalation point for operational issues and affecting customers
  • Freight and Logistics Management:

  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits
    • Ensure all hazmat shipments meet the IMDG code and requirements for classification, packaging, marking, labeling and documentation.
  • Food Grade Compliance:
    • Maintain and enforce standards for a food-grade warehouse environment, including cleanliness, temperature control, and pest management. 
  • Facility Operations:
    • Perform tasks related to receiving, shipping, storing, distributing, and delivering products, parts, and materials. Assemble, address, stamp, pack, unpack, and arrange transportation of products. Load, unload, move, or store items according to documentation and instructions. 
  • Facility Security:
    • Conduct regular inspections of both interior and exterior perimeters to ensure a secure and safe environment. Continuously assess security measures and provide recommendations for enhancements as needed. 
  • Facility / MHE Maintenance Oversight:
    • Review facility maintenance concerns, identify required services, and coordinate with appropriate vendors to address and resolve all facility-related maintenance requests and issues. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 
Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Education: an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, coordination, business administration, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and other relevant certifications, is required. 
  • Six Sigma and LEAN Environment: Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and experience working in a LEAN environment is preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, with a focus on pick and pack operations and freight management, is required. 
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications is required. 
  • Leadership and Development: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong organizational and communication skills, is required. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of making quick and effective decisions under pressure, are required. 
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of warehouse operations and freight management is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting warehouse operations by accurately picking and palletizing customer orders for lubricants and antifreeze products. This role also handles the receipt of inbound shipments and the loading of outbound freight containers in accordance with company and regulatory standards. The Material Handler uses RF scanners to execute inventory movements within the company’s preferred ERP system, ensuring inventory accuracy, timely order fulfillment, and safe handling of materials throughout the process.

Responsibilities Include

  • Pick full pallets and prepare for shipment. Build individual pallets containing multiple products and prepare for shipment.

  • Unload inbound freight and stage in appropriate storage locations.

  • Move totes, kegs, pails using approved lift assist equipment.

  • Prepare shipping documentation using Company approved software programs

  • Housekeeping – removing plastic, cardboard (baling), emptying trash cans and sweeping floors

What You’ll Need

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with a cooperative and positive attitude.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to build strong working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to understand and follow English instructions preferred.
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of operating facility material handling equipment (OSHA certified on forklifts, reach trucks, hand trucks) and their attachments
  • Basic understanding and utilization of RF scanning equipment
  • Have good arithmetic skills
  • Be available for various shifts

  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.

Descriptive Summary

The Material Handler in Countertops is responsible for specialized warehouse tasks in loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift, fabrication, and counter, or may have a generalized role working in all departments.

Essential Functions

  • Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transportation of goods.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse management software program.
  • Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pile materials, such as slabs & porcelain panels
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in the correct location, etc.). Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures.
  • May drive the truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations or operate forklift or other machinery to complete tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience with countertop equipment or machinery preferred.
  • Knowledge of machines includes but is not limited to Waterjet Saw, Edge Polishers, CNCs, and various hand tools and routers/polishers.

Pay range: $17-$20
