**Department: Psychiatry - Addiction Research & Treatment Services (ARTS) Adult Outpatient Program**
**Job Title: Medication Dispensing Nurse**

**Job Summary:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assess patients for appropriateness of treatment.
+ Assess patients' needs for physical exams, and report observations to physicians and/or counselors.
+ Administer medication such as: Methadone, Suboxone, Naltrexone, Antabuse, and extended-release injectable naltrexone to patients.
+ Transport narcotic medication in a manner consistent with DEA, State, and Federal, rules and regulations, while abiding by ARTS policies and procedures to include but not limited to using a lock box. Delivery locations will include correctional facilities, rehabilitation centers, inpatient treatment facilities, or any location deemed appropriate by ARTS.
+ Monitor each patient's vital signs and health condition.
+ Draw blood for analysis/labs, obtain test results and administer TB tests.
+ Assess adverse reactions to medications, and issues relating to drug overdose, HIV, and/or HCV.
+ Handle infectious materials, human blood, or other body fluids according to applicable policy and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned by Program Director of MAT and Nurse Programs.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Two (2) years of nursing, nursing assistance, dispensing medication, and/or experience related to position.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

This position accurately collects and handles appropriate patient biological samples for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease in support of AOP's clinical and medical operations. The position is also responsible for collecting urinalysis specimens from patients (observation of same-sex urine specimen provision), as well as conducting breathalyzer testing of patients and recording the results. The Pharmacy Services Manager provides leadership and direction to SelectHealth Pharmacy Services and Scripius. This position contributes to the strategic and clinical direction of the department. The Manager identifies and promotes the changes needed to provide cost-effective quality pharmacy benefits to members.
**The shifts for this position will be** **M-F 8-5. There will be a travel requirement for this position.**
**Essential Functions**
+ Ensures coordination and communication of pharmacy benefit management (PBM) programs including drug manufacturer contracting, P&T Committee activities, physician communication/education, retail/community pharmacy, NCQA qualification, information services, clinical intervention programs, drug usage evaluation programs, and pharmacy outcomes research.
+ Coordinates, manages, and monitors pharmacy claims processing services, utilization management, and prior authorization protocols.
+ Conducts Drug Utilization Review projects as appropriate, which includes ability to query and analyze pharmacy data.
+ Oversees Clinical Coordinators, pharmacy residents and student activities.
+ Promotes stand-alone PBM through relationships with customers, brokers, and key employer group executives.
+ Responsible for the administration of all medication therapy management programs for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial lines of business.
+ Oversees and/or coordinates pharmacy and network contracts.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Pharm D. degree or Masters degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Degree will be verified.
+ State license to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.
+ Five years of pharmacy practice experience in a managed care or hospital environment.
+ Five years of Pharmacy Benefits management experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Managed care experience
+ Presentation skills - the ability to speak clearly and confidently in front of large groups regularly.
+ Advanced degree in business management or healthcare administration.
+ Pharmacy experience in a managed care setting including an ASHP accredited managed care residency.
+ Strong health care systems orientation including: managed care, retail and hospital pharmacy, pharmacy contracting, pharmaceutical company contracting.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Personal computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
