W.W. Gay is seeking a Procurement Agent. This is an entry- to mid-level position open to those with interest in becoming a Project Administrator, Estimator, Project Manager, or Manager.
Within the Procurement department, the Procurement Agent will be responsible for placing orders on behalf of internal project operations team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist project managers, field leadership and fabrication/coordination department in obtaining quotes and lead time for material lists and placing the orders with vendors.
- Notify the designated delivery personnel when to expect the order and vendor point of contact in case there are issues with the shipment.
- Purchase all material requisitions and weekly stock orders for C&G Supply from the warehouse manager.
- Perform inventory maintenance operations in coins by adding and deleting new product items. Review and updated pricing in coins for products that show increases or decreases of 30% or more.
- Create and maintain cordial supplier relationships.
- Troubleshoot problem invoices for the accounting department to identify and resolve issues with PO overages.
- Occasionally, supporting the team by fulfilling Assistant Procurement Agent responsibilities:
- Receive requests via phone call and email for purchase orders from project operations team members
- Create purchase orders in ERP software (COINS)
- Provide Purchase Order to requestor via email or phone
- Document the process correctly (e.g. attached quotes to the PO after initial contact or follow-up).
- Assist the Procurement Lead with resolving problem invoices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager and/or Precon Group leadership.
- Must have knowledge of materials for mechanical and plumbing
- Must have attention to detail and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in their work
- Shall have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must complete tasks within company timelines
- Team-oriented attitude with flexible mental outlook.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 1-2 years of applicable experience with mechanical and/or plumbing materials.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensacin: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
