ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS:
  • Set up projects in ERP system, ensuring accuracy of billing terms, budgets, client info
  • Generate accurate, timely invoices in accordance with contract terms and client specifications
  • Maintain project contracts, supplemental agreements, and task work orders
  • Coordinate with project managers and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain digital records of contracts, billing documents, and communications
  • Support audits by providing billing backup and documentation as needed
  • General admin and clerical duties to support the accounting department
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficiency in project management/accounting/ERP software (e.g., Deltek or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills (xlookup, pivot tables a plus)
  • Proficiency in and/or peripheral knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Compensation:

Salary range is $26 - $30/hr. This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role.

The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Prime Contract Manager, serves as the Project Accounting Manager to provide direct oversight and administration of the PDS CAHSR Program subcontractors and monthly invoice process. The position will involve interaction and problem-solving with the Subcontractors, Task Leads and CAHSR Authority Contract team. This position reports to the Prime Contract Manager.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the PDS project accounting team and duties
  2. Review and analyze all financial documentation prior to submission to Authority
  3. Develop and maintain master dispute file for PDS and Authority use
  4. Develop and implement continuous improvement to deliver efficient and consistent invoices that meet contract and State guidelines
  5. Respond to Authority and Program Leadership regarding financial performance inquiries, audits and escalated issues
  6. Conduct weekly invoice meeting with the Authority
  7. Conduct bi-weekly meeting with the Authority regarding dispute resolution
  8. Provide Authority with Fiscal Year End financial accrual information
  9. Provide Authority with Fiscal Year End budget encumbrances (Planning/Construction)
  10. Provide monthly subcontractor payment tracking for submission to the Authority
  11. Monitor and review the monthly invoice narratives process to be included with invoices.
  12. Monitor A/R, A/P, unbilled, earned revenue, and disputed costs status

  14. Manage work flow, processes and communication within the project accounting team.

Minimum Requirements

+ BA/BS + 8 years of experience in accounting of program and project management projects in an engineering services industry.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Has advanced knowledge of project accounting, providing support for the most complex and/or large scale projects.
  2. Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or engineering and/or management.
  3. Ability to analyze program functional effectiveness and recommend applicable solutions to address needs and challenges.
  4. Experience supervising project accountants and/or analysts, or a group of individuals.
  5. Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Sharepoint and Oracle.

  • Provide general administrative and financial support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, environmental remediation, or demolition industry.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting principles, including job costing and progress billing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with project managers, estimators, clients, and vendors.

**Job Overview:**
The Manager Project Accounting role requires an in-depth understanding of Project Accounting concepts, theories, and principles and basic knowledge of other related disciplines. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for execution of assigned R2R activities, including budgeting, forecasting, standards development, monthly reporting, variance/trend analysis, and cash forecasts
+ Prepare planning and utilization reports to facilitate decision-making and ensure activities and reports are completed as per the FP&A calendar timelines
+ Ensure all assigned activities are completed within the agreed time and of the highest quality and ensure that team metrics/KPIs are met

**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ 10+ years of experience, ideally in the oil and gas, EPCI, or construction industry
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting required and relevant certification, such as Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA, etc.)
+ Practical and flexible attitude with independent judgment
+ Must be detail-oriented, a team player, and able to effectively work to strict deadlines
+ Must be computer literate with working knowledge of finance and accounting system

**BWXT is currently seeking a Project Accounting Analyst for its Erwin, TN location!**
The Project Accounting Analyst performs a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, cost control, preparation of reports, journal entries, and assists with close processes and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial results in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
**Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**
**Monthly Financial Reporting:**
+ Prepares month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries in compliance with accounting principles.
+ Assists in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
+ Manages labor distributions and timekeeping accuracies for customer projects.
+ Performs labor reconciliations for project related costs.
+ Manages accounts receivable process, including invoicing and maintaining accurate customer billings.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Financial Analysis:**
+ Conducts variance analysis to compare actual financial results with budgeted/forecasted figures. This includes, but is not limited to, analysis of actual hours vs. loadboard hours on a regular basis to proactively identify issues and the ability to meet project manufacturing commitments.
+ Collaborates with cost center managers to develop budgets and forecasts for the current and next two fiscal years.
+ Provides ad-hoc financial analysis as required to support business decisions regarding operations.
**Account Reconciliation & Compliance:**
+ Performs monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
+ Supports internal SOX compliance and external audit requirements.
+ Assists with implementation of new controlling tools and process/procedure improvements as directed.
**Required Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
+ One (1) year of relevant work experience.
+ Previous accounting, budgeting, and/or project cost analysis experience.
