  • Initiate and participate in management of change (MOC) reviews for applicable projects.
  • Review design drawings and specifications and coordinate input from stakeholders.
  • Manage project scope, cost, and schedule to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Ensure assigned projects comply with all applicable Marathon and refining industry specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with project controls group for project scheduling, estimating, cost management, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with procurement in development of contracting plan, including engineering services and equipment sourcing.
  • Develop Construction Work Packages and support construction and commissioning of assigned projects through field walks, responding to RFIs and approving installations before turning over to operations.
  • Provide documentation and support Operations and Maintenance departments to develop manuals, operating and maintenance procedures, and equipment training.
Education, Experience, and Skills Minimum Requirements
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Must have at least 8 years of combined experience as an Engineer and a Project Manager in a refinery, petro-chemical or other heavy related industry.
  • Must have at least 2 years of Project Management experience in a refining or petrochemical plant and other heavy industry.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have strong planning and coordinating skills.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery, be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
  • Travel Requirement is 5% or less.
  • Must be able to work one of the available schedules for the position are 9/80, 5/40 or 4/1, after hours calls occur occasionally during the year and support of TAR once a year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical background in automation and control system Project Management is preferred.
  • Familiar with refinery construction, reliability, maintenance, and operations is preferred.

This position is located in Melbourne, FL and requires an on‑site presence. It follows a 9/80 schedule, allowing employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The role is an individual contributor, non‑manager position with no direct reports.

The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Program Operations & Integration team and will support the Program Management Office (PMO) to integrate, control, and manage program requirements for a restricted program. Responsibilities include reviewing project status and budgets, resource planning, facilitating meetings, and supporting administrative functions tied to the PMO business rhythm.

Key Roles And Responsibilities
  • Support the Program Management Office and leadership with time‑sensitive deliverables, metrics, and presentations.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure all objectives are met.
  • Monitor progress, assess project issues, and drive actions to closure to meet program goals.
  • Perform program resource management, including coordination of project staffing baselines and forecasts.
  • Facilitate risk, issue, and opportunity management.
  • Data synthesis, aggregation, analysis, and communication.
  • Organize knowledge sharing and assist with improvements to the team SharePoint site.
  • Promote team engagement activities such as lunch and learns and recognition programs.
  • Support new business proposals and facilitation.
  • Proactively manage strategic rhythm to ensure preparedness for program and customer deadlines.
  • Drive a sense of urgency and act with speed to meet all needs of the business and stakeholders.
  • Project and control account management.
  • Coordinate across multiple disciplines and product teams.
  • Prepare status reports and maintain detailed project logs.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer‑satisfaction goals.
  • Establish and maintain the program strategic rhythm.
  • Review change‑board packages and assess potential impacts.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Assist in developing program metrics and coordinate with Tableau administrators to build products for the program.
  • Administer Jira and Confluence sites; create new process documentation and controls to ensure configuration control of data.
  • Coordinate and manage program meetings.

This role may be filled at either the Project Manager or Principal Project Manager level, based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications For Project Management
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience in project management, OR Master’s degree, 6 years of experience, and a high school diploma may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with and manipulating detail‑oriented data.
  • Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance and any required program access within a reasonable period of time.

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,800.00 – $5,800.00
