The RN Staff Development Coordinator plans, organizes, develops, and directs all in service education in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
* Nursing diploma (associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing)
* Currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
* One (1) year skilled nursing experience preferred
* Teaching/education experience preferred
* CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements:
* Desire and ability to effectively train and educate all nursing associates and other associates as applicable
* Expert knowledge in field of practice
* Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
* Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
* Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
* Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
* Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
* Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
* Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
* Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Essential Functions:

* Maintain associate training and in service records
* Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
* Assist in the evacuation of patients

* Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
* Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
* Read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Dialysis experience required. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment planning intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team this position participates in decision-making teaching leadership functions and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations. All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy procedures standards of nursing practice state and federal regulations. Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses. Performs ongoing systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre - during - post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Team Leader Charge Nurse Supervisor or Physician as needed. Assesses collaborates and documents patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family. Directs and provides in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients. Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s) and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness. Serves as a resource for health care team participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned. Ensures correct laboratory collection processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections. Identifies expected outcomes documents and updates the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting moving of patients and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. The employee may occasionally be required to move with assistance machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs. and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. - Accountable for the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health staff for assigned areas on a 24-hour basis.
- Use appropriate consultation with experts of each discipline he/she supervises to ensure that practice and performance issues are addressed and resolved.
- Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
- Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- Demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of six years of professional nursing experience is required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
- The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.
- Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and must be able to compose reports.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- This position is considered hazardous duty.
- Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
- Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
- Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
- Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
