Maximus is seeking an Analyst - Business Analysis to join our team. This is a remote position that will support the Department of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Apply strong analytical reasoning to understand end user's requirements and transform them into operational applications.

- Acquire deep knowledge of working systems and bring efficient and effective changes for better performance across programs.

- Extract, analyze, and report data to support program activity and assist in management decision making.

- Audit, evaluate, track, and report performance activity for Performance Management and contract compliance purposes (e.g., alignment with the program's service-level agreements,)

- Work closely with operations staff to define requirements, test criteria, and identify success factors.

Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Complete all tasks when a new Change request is received from the Department of Education. This includes but is not limited to, opening appropriate tickets, creating wording for letters, obtaining needed approvals and ensure all deadlines are met.

- Assist with tracking and trending customer requests to identify gaps in the process.

- Will be the primary trainer for all new hires as well as all refresher courses in the department. The candidate will be responsible for compiling training material and ensuring it is presented in a clear and accurate manner.

- Assist with PQA, weekly and monthly QC to identify gaps. The candidate will ensure, once a gap is identified, updates are provided to staff to make sure everyone has the correct information.

- Responsible for ensuring all KS documents are up to date with current and correct information.

- Assist with quality reviews of escalated cases for the program and work closely with management to ensure items of significance are shared timely and risks/issues are opened as warranted.

- Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements as per contract/client:

- FSA, Department of Education experience required

- Experience with account reconciliations

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Must reside in the U.S.

- Experience with CLASS required

- Must be a U.S. citizen.

- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

- Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.

- Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.

Obtaining and Maintaining a PIV-I card is a requirement of this position. PIV-I cards must be picked up in person. New and existing employees may need to travel via car, train, or plane to a designated location to pick up their new or replacement PIV-I card. Any travel expenses will be paid for by Maximus.

Home Office Requirements:

- Hardwired internet (ethernet) connection

- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree, or demonstrated ability to perform the role successfully.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. As a Business Analysis Associate II- Application Security in Organizational Effectiveness & Oversight, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and strategic initiatives and leverage your advanced understanding of data analytics and automation as you uncover patterns, analyze complex data sets, and develop innovative solutions to support business strategies. Your expertise in cross-functional collaboration will enable you to work effectively with diverse teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Job responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets from varied sources, utilizing advanced data analytics skills to uncover patterns and provide insightful reporting in support of operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies, leveraging systems architecture knowledge to optimize processes and drive efficiency within the department.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with diverse teams across the organization to align efforts, share knowledge, and drive the successful implementation of business strategies.
  • Utilize strategic thinking to evaluate potential scenarios, assess risks, and make informed decisions that have a direct impact on departmental outcomes.
  • Provide coaching to team members, empowering them to take ownership of their work while ensuring objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with domestic partners, application owners, external vendors and LOBs daily and collaborate on escalated issues; follow up with users/owners on deliverables and resolve any issues the users/owner may have.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 3+ Years' experience conducting data analysis with a focus on uncovering patterns and providing insightful reporting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing automation strategies, with a strong understanding of systems architecture.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional collaboration, with experience in working with diverse teams across an organization and ability to work independently, efficiently manage time and multiple activities, and execute responsibilities with limited direct supervision.
  • Advanced strategic thinking skills, with a track record of evaluating potential scenarios, assessing risks, and making informed decisions.
  • Experience in providing coaching and delegation to team members, with a focus on empowering individuals and ensuring efficient achievement of objectives.
  • Provide quality service to customers through continuous communication.
  • Understand software delivery lifecycle and have skills in industry standard methodologies and related tasks.
