Day to Day Responsibilities



·   Lead proposal/business capture teams to shape, write and review proposals

·   Interface with customers, including travel, to shape marketing efforts and effectively communicate technical results

·   Investigate fundamental topics in a scientific field such as signal processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, physics and/or math

·   Lead teams of two or more Scientists, Engineers, and Programmers, including identifying, assigning, and completing research and development tasks appropriate to each member of the team

·   Provide strategic leadership role in working with a project / proposal team to identify the research approach, hypotheses to be tested, and program milestones to achieve all program objectives

·   Facilitate collaboration in large, complex teams to ensure resulting technology (algorithms, software, frameworks) achieves all research objectives

·   Select, improve, or design computational models

·   Identify relevant research approaches, hypotheses to be tested, and program milestones to achieve all program objectives with project and/or proposal teams

·   Provide scientific, technical and software design support to projects and proposals

·   Design statistically valid experiments to test and validate resulting computational models

·   Provide leadership and guidance in the analysis of results of the experiments using sound scientific principles

·   Design experiments to test and validate computational models

·   Establish and maintain a professional rapport with all project stakeholders (internal and external)

·   Additional project and proposal duties as assigned


Additional Responsibilities
  • Occasional travel to attend and present at customer meetings and essential industry conferences
  • Prepare technical briefing materials/summarize technical work and progress of projects
  • Collaborate with company leadership and senior technical staff to conduct proposal research and proposal writing

This Job is Right for You if you Have:


·   Master’s degree in cognitive sciences, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field, with 13+ years of experience; PhD with 10+ years of experience

Demonstrates strong competency in every category and a mastery of at least one category

Preferred Technical Qualifications

Preferred Domain Knowledge

As a subject matter expert, the Clinical Research scientist (CRS) partners with the Medical Director to provide scientific, clinical, strategic, and operational input to an early or late-stage clinical development program. The CRS contributes to data interpretation, study designs, regulatory documents, and publications as well as providing scientific input into pipeline programs. The CRS closely collaborates with other internal functions as well as external partners, such as contract research organizations and medical experts.

Within the frame of the clinical development of new medicines, the Clinical Research Scientist is responsible for


Managing assigned activities within clinical study independently


providing clinical/scientific input and gathering necessary information from other areas to Clinical Development Plans for one or more molecules or indications


Work in close partnership with CROs and other vendors in clinical and medical data review and participating in operational excellence of the execution of the project in collaboration with GCO


Work on the design of Clinical trial concepts, study protocols, assessment schedules, patient information material as well as final clinical study reports


Work on the relevant sections of the common technical document dossier


Help to design and structure the content of relevant Advisory Board Meetings


Writes scientific rationale for clinical trial protocols, including most recent literature citations


Drives creation and annual update of IB liaising with Toxicology, Pharmacology, Safety, Regulatory and Medical & Communication Experts


Works closely with Medical Communications to ensure all relevant documentation is updated with new medical information, including assuming responsibility for the incorporation of additional information into the Investigator Brochure.

The Clinical Research Scientist is an individual contributor with analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a growth mindset.


Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on assigned tasks or projects of increasing complexity with scientific rigor in a fast-paced, team-based matrix environment.


Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts


Aptitude to interpret and to integrate data, including, clinical safety and efficacy data, pharmacokinetics, biomarker and next generation sequencing data


Moderate medical or clinical knowledge and experience in clinical development/ operations with the capacity to monitor labs and other clinical data from clinical trials


Experience in product & clinical development (minimum of 3 years, with at least 5 years in a comparable setting in biopharma, preferred)


Capability to perform literature searches and to utilize library services, digest the information, and synthesize the key take-away points


Strong communication skills - verbal, written and listening, with the knack to contribute to abstracts/publications


Record of having completed or significantly contributed to scientific work or project


Strong presentation skills and adapting to a variety of audiences


Normally receives no instruction on routine work and only general instruction on new assignments


Educational and/or work experience in the respective therapeutic area (eg Neurology or Immunology) is strongly desirable.


Experience in analysis and interpretation of clinical data and a working knowledge of biostatistics, ICH-GCP, and regulatory requirements for clinical studies.


Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.


High level of organizational and project management skills.


Experience interacting with development operations (clinical operations, regulatory, QA) and clinical investigators.

Bachelor's Degree required, preferred in Science with a minimum of 7+ (minimum) years of experience in product & clinical development in Clinical Development or 9+ in a comparable setting in the pharmaceutical industry.

CONTRACT ROLE (Up to 1 year) -


General Summary

The Senior Research Scientist will develop new laser and other energy-based devices for dermatological and aesthetic applications, driving projects from concept development through technical feasibility studies, and working prototypes. This role is responsible for the design, construction, and testing of research prototype systems—including solid-state lasers, dye lasers, and other energy-delivery platforms. The scientist will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address high-priority technical challenges.


Essential Job Functions

  • Analysis of new laser concepts through theoretical and/or computational models.
  • Design, demonstration and analysis of the performance of Proof-of-Concept lasers and other energy based systems.
  • Development and/or characterization of critical laser/topical components.
  • Evaluation and improvement of current processes and components.
  • Preparation of documentation both for internal R&D use and for transfer of products to engineering.
  • Generation and documentation of new IP.
  • Participation in project planning, data reviews, and design reviews.
  • Independent investigator to lead device development project
  • Collaboration with external vendors, industry and academic partners to mature laser technology
  • Travel as needed such as supporting prototypes in the field
  • Will be provided projects to work on with regular oversight from other research scientist and management


Knowledge/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or Laser Technology. Advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working in Laser and other-directed energy technologies, tissue optics and laser tissue interactions.
  • Broad knowledge base of a variety of laser technologies and hands on design experience with laser resonator design, short pulse generation, nonlinear optical techniques, and laser amplifiers.
  • Hands on experience in experimental techniques in optics and laser technology studying tissue effects, electronics, and instrumentation.
  • Experience developing medical devices is preferred.
