The Director, Resilience, plays a vital role in implementing the company's resiliency strategy within a designated business Segment and supporting Function. The company is structured into four business Segments-Imaging, Pharmaceuticals (PDx), Patient Care Solutions (PCS), and Advanced Visualization Solutions (AVS)-supported by enterprise Functions such as HR, Finance, and others. This role is embedded within the Resilience Center of Excellence (COE) and focuses on delivering resilience capabilities tailored to the operational needs of the assigned areas.
Reporting to the Global Head of Business Continuity & Resiliency, the Director is responsible for executing business continuity and end-to-end resiliency initiatives at the Segment and Function level. The role partners closely with business leaders to embed resilience into planning, strengthen preparedness, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. While the Director may contribute to broader COE efforts, the primary focus is on Segment-specific execution and support.
This role requires strong strategic influence, program management skills, a collaborative focus, and the ability to translate strategy into practical, business-aligned solutions.
**Job Description**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Facilitate the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for critical sites and functions, aligned with enterprise resilience goals.
+ Drive end-to-end supply chain resiliency planning by assessing threats, identifying risks, mapping value streams, and supporting strategies for high-priority operations.
+ Collaborate with Disaster Recovery teams to ensure application recovery aligns with business continuity objectives.
+ Integrate real-time risk intelligence into Segment and Function strategies to enable proactive risk management and faster response.
+ Prioritize and lead complex mitigation initiatives that reduce risk and align with business priorities.
+ Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to Segment and Function leadership, guiding mitigation actions and influencing decisions on resilience investments and operational risk.

+ Collaborate with technology, data, and operations teams to enhance resilience tools, dashboards, and reporting for real-time visibility and program management.

**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, emergency management, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 8+ years of experience in resilience, business continuity, or related disciplines, with a strong track record of program execution.
+ Familiarity with resilience tools (e.g., Fusion Risk Management, Everbridge, Castellan), data platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and crisis management systems.
+ Solid understanding of business resilience principles, enterprise risk management, crisis management, and supply chain resilience.

Seeking committed and passionate Master Resilience Trainers (MRT) to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense's Ready and Resilient (R2) program. Our MRT Specialists will play a pivotal role in enhancing the physical and psychological resilience and performance of military personnel, the Department of the Army civilians and their families.
Ready and Resilient Performance Centers provide instruction in the areas of resilience, positive psychology, and performance enhancement to U.S. Army and Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, their families, and Department of the Army (DA) civilians at 35 Army installations within the United States and Overseas. MRT-PEs provide instruction in the areas of resilience, positive psychology, and performance enhancement to DoD service members, their families, and DA civilians. Prior to performing MRT-PE tasks, MRT-PEs must graduate from the Army's Master Resilience Training Course (Government-provided) and be a certified Army Performance Expert.
MRT-PEs teach mental skills, resilience, and performance enhancement techniques. Teaching is conducted in group and individual settings and includes general education in human performance along with personalized training on how to acquire and apply specific mental skills and techniques that cultivate the mental and emotional strength necessary to thrive in an era of overwhelming demands and persistent conflict. The mental skills and techniques taught by the program include Building Confidence, Goal Setting, Attention Control, Energy Management, Integrating Imagery, and Team Building. Using these principles, MRT-PEs help the clients to become high performing "tactical athletes" and help foster high performing "unit teams" in preparation for, during, and following combat operations. Specifically, MRT-PEs teach performance psychology to further promote excellence and efficiency during physical, technical, and tactical training, as well as during the challenges of combat operations. MRT-PEs also provide tailored education to facilitate Wounded Warriors in their transition back to their units or to civilian life. The program teams are comprised of 5-10 MRT-PEs and led by a Performance Center Manager with prior military experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Attend training exercises and field operations as requested by individual units to serve as a performance enhancement consultant and to coach the clients and leaders on the acquisition of performance psychology techniques and their application to individual military tasks and unit operations
• Provide tailored educational programs and workshops to help Families and Civilians living and working in demanding environments achieve success and accomplish personal, professional, and family goals
• Recommend improvements to all aspects of the program operations

**Position Summary:**
The Community Resilience Manager is responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Disaster Assistance Managers and other key stakeholders to support various emergency response efforts within the Operating Company (OpCo). This role focuses on ensuring strong collaboration and communication between the OpCo and local communities to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery from all escalated events, including wildfires, snowstorms, wind events, and other emergencies. Remain knowledgeable about major initiatives within the OpCo, including transmission rebuilds, regulatory filings, and other business initiatives to ensure alignment for outreach and strategy for our communities.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Relationship Management & Strategic Partnership:
+ Serve as the primary liaison between the OpCo and OEMs, First Responders, and key interest groups that support local emergency response efforts.
+ Develop and maintain strong working relationships with emergency management officials, fire agencies, first responders, and community leaders.
+ Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on emergency response plans and strategies.
+ Manage and maintain relationships with Critical Facilities/Customers, ensuring they have robust emergency response and backup plans.

+ Incident Coordination:
+ Facilitate communication and resource deployment to support affected communities during and after emergency events. Ensure timely and accurate information is being provided to stakeholders and the public regarding emergency risk, mitigation efforts and response procedures.
+ Community Support and Engagement:
+ Develop and manage community service involvement and support initiatives related to emergency preparedness and response. Participate in community meetings discussing and gathering feedback on emergency response plans. **Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business, Disaster Science and Management, Emergency Response, Emergency Management, Emergency & Disaster Management, Meteorology, or related field. Years of applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
+ Ten (10) or more total years of experience, consisting of five (5) or more years of experience managing emergency preparedness and response programs/procedures and five (5) or more years of community/government affairs experience/public relations and or/communications.
+ Previous wildfire mitigation or emergency management experience preferred.
+ Experience working with a utility, government agency, or other regulated industry preferred.

**About the Role:**
Business resilience expert professional responsible for regulatory and operational risk management activities of the bank. Works with key stakeholders across the business to ensure sound planning, the application of effective mitigation strategies, and risk monitoring, analysis, and reporting on significant risk and resilience issues. Assist business units in achieving resiliency objectives related toprogrammilestones and policy requirements. Key teammemberin enterprise-wide projects, supporting proactive risk identification, mitigation and effective incident and crisis management.
+ Support Business Resilience programs through consultation, analysis, strategy recommendations, and corporate resiliency applications.
+ Support full life-cycle business continuity management and disaster recovery planning, response and recovery activity.
+ Work closely with business units to identify critical business processes, ensuring a state of readiness in the event of a disaster or business disruption.
+ Partner with subject matter experts to reduce risk through a collaborative effort to identify appropriate strategies for recovery.
+ Monitor the completeness of all program milestones related to resiliency, including training, analyses, planning and testing.
+ Support corporate response plans related to emergency management, business continuity, crisis response, safety and disaster recovery planning.
+ Lead cross-functional risk management initiatives and projects that impact multiple risk disciplines and/or business units.
+ Deliver threat and vulnerability awareness, in conjunction with current environmental or other internal and external threats.
+ Drive the adoption of a culture of preparedness with appropriate training and awareness materials.
+ Analyzethe results of complex risk assessments and dependency mapping, that requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors, to increase resiliency across the organization's footprint.
+ Ensure compliance with all bank regulations, industry standards and regulatory requirements. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
+ May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
+ Actively learn, demonstrate, and foster the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

+ Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or other applicabledisciplineRequired.

+ Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint necessary. Knowledge of SharePoint, GRC, continuity planning, technology inventory databases, and mass notification systemshelpful.
+ Intermediate knowledge of financial institutions general control structure, as well as, knowledge of various financial services operations, to assess risk, challenge and make appropriate recommendations.
+ Certified Business Continuity Professional Credentials (CBCP) or equivalent certificationProfessional industry organization certification.CurrentPreferred
