SUMMARY
The Restaurant Supervisor ("Supervisor/a de Restaurante")  assists the Food & Beverage Management in supervising all Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring team members deliver exceptional guest service and a consistently high-quality, value-driven product. The Supervisor helps oversee daily operations, supports training and development, reinforces service standards, and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assists Food & Beverage Management in supervising and coordinating daily operations across all Food & Beverage outlets. 
• Organizes and oversees the operation of all Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring consistency in food and beverage quality, service, ambiance, and overall guest experience. 
• Trains staff in both group settings and one-on-one coaching to reinforce service standards, safety practices, and product knowledge. 
• Coordinates and supervises all service staff during meal periods across assigned Food & Beverage outlets. 
• Ensures cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in all F&B areas, in accordance with Health Department and hotel standards. 
• Maintains a house bank and follows established cash-handling procedures to ensure accuracy and accountability. 
• Supports the onboarding, training, and continued development of Food & Beverage team associates. 
• Responds promptly and professionally to guest concerns or service issues and ensures appropriate resolution. 
• Collaborates with kitchen, stewarding, and other support teams to ensure smooth and cohesive service. 
• Handles day to day administrative responsibilities and communicate updates to the department manager as needed.  
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED. 
• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. 
• A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement. 
• Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred. 
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required. 
• Proficient with Point of Sale (POS) systems.  
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense. 
• RBS Certification required. 
• Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations. 
• Ability to be poised under pressure with continued smiles, and maintain a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances.   
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs. 
• The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.

Part-Time

Provide Food and Beverage service of all assigned spaces ensuring all standards are adhered to in accordance with The Westgate Food & Beverage Standards & Operating Procedures.

• Welcome and greet guests addressing them by name through the reservation system
• Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you're there to personally take care of them;
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes;
• Make genuine recommendations that you feel your guests will enjoy;
• Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques;
• Answer questions regarding regions where food products come from, how food is prepared;
• Describe in detail tastes and textures;
• Answer questions regarding wine list, where wine comes from the vintage and the aromas & flavors of the wines;
• Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services;
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar;
• Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter;
• Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests;
• Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable);
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise;
• Be ready and willing to assist support staff with clearing and resetting tables;
• Thank guests addressing them by their name for their visit and invite them to return;
• Polishing glassware and prepare mise en place;
• Maintaining cleanliness in assigned section and service station;

• 1 - 2 years full service restaurant; hotel restaurant preferred;
• Current CA Food Handler's card.
• Outgoing personality and superior verbal skills are a MUST;
• Meticulous attention to detail;
• Positive attitude and willingness to get along with co-workers;
• Must be motivated, hardworking, and passionate
• Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends;

• Two or more years' experience in full service restaurant or hotel restaurant with a luxury property or brand preferred;

• Regularly works in both Indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to move up to 100 lbs., with wheeled assistance.
• Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting or lifting overhead 20-50 or more pounds.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time
