The Higher Education Solutions (HES) sales team sells Yamaha musical instruments and audio products (and affiliated brands) to colleges and universities throughout the U.S. With a broad portfolio of products including Pianos, Percussion, Winds & Stringed instruments, Guitars, and Pro Audio products, this sales team has a unique approach to serving schools in the Higher Education vertical market. The District Manager position works closely with Presidents, Provosts, Deans, Chairs and other faculty to bring the best possible solutions to this market. An HES District Manager spends the majority of their time on college campuses or attending educator conferences to represent Yamaha and find solutions that help support the strategic initiatives of each campus.
Purpose of Role
The District Manager will successfully execute annual territory sales plan while maintaining a long-term approach of relationship selling. Represent the company, products, brand at trade shows and other business events.
This is a remote position and is located in the Central Region. The candidate must live in their territory which includes IA, IL, MN, MO, NE, ND, SD and WI with 75% travel which will include visits to our US headquarters in Buena Park, CA.

Primary Responsibilities Include
- Shape and execute territory sales plan; serve as primary contact for all matters of business, pertaining to the sales, planning, and marketing for assigned accounts
- Influence and execute the placement plan for Yamaha products within the assigned territory
- Report on market insights and competitive conditions and products
- Assess and recommend training options for channel partners within territory; provide direct training
- Document territory sales cycle activity
- Facilitate demand generating events and/or relationships within the territory

Qualifications

National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Senior Project Manager to join their Los Angeles office. In this role, you will be actively managing project teams and building long-term relationships with the company's growing higher education, civic, and cultural practice. This role requires excellent time management, communication, and technical skills as you work closely with a Principals, Senior Designers, Project Architects and other Project Managers developing design solutions in response to the company's clients deadlines and needs.
The firm has 11 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with Principal in evaluation of project requirements and helps to negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee and time schedule.
Demonstrates task-focused mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule, and budget.Completes projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction.
Negotiates critical issues with top-level architects, engineers and officials of other organizations and firms.
Utilizes experience and technical knowledge and monitors quality of the construction documents keeping in mind schedules/budgets and provides coaching/communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for workflow/timelines, etc. this may require worksite job visits and in-person client meetings.
Develops discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project and monitors project costs, completion status against budget schedules/timelines.
Oversees all correspondence and pertinent documents, making sure they are accurate, signs or obtains signatures and seeks legal counsel as appropriate
Coordinates review and evaluation of contractor bids and works with Principal so that award recommendation can be submitted to owner
Provides day-to-day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assists with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:

Registered Architect with Bachelor's or Masters degree with 10 + years of professional experience working on increasingly more complex projects.
Experience with a variety of California higher education facilities and Division of State Architect preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred
Experience with Lean and Evidence-based design and design build a plus
Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Max, SketchUp and other industry accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is required
Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly with team members; ability to interact with clients at all stages of a project from initial client meeting (pre and post interview) through project occupancy
Demonstrated ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery which may be multiple, large or complex in scope
