Overview
The Security Operations team is looking for a SOC Security Monitoring and Response Analyst to sit on the front-line of cybersecurity defense operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about information security and technology, highly motivated, analytical and team player. Role
In this highly visible position, you will:
- Respond to advanced cybersecurity events and incidents.
- Support the incident reponse process, including debriefs to leadership, Fusion Center and peer teams.
- Apply root cause analysis and lessons learned to improve security posture and processes.
- Respond to end user queries, security alerts, solutions that meet security monitoring and response standards.
- Facilitate M&A, and other new environment onboarding into SOC processes.
- Mentour junior analysts.
- Improve cybersecurity technologies and processes in support of the Security Operations Center and Corporate Security department charters.
All About You
Essential requirements of candidates:
- Three to five years of experience in Security Operations or related fields, preferably within a Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Strong working knowledge of security or experience with information technology (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Web Proxy, Antivirus, Security Information and Event Management SIEMs, Endpoint Detection agents, etc.).
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Mitre ATT&CK, Kill Chain, Vulnerability Management and Networking principles.
- Experience with Windows, Unix Based Operating Systems, and Cloud Security fundementals is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and/or high-pressure situations
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to obtain certification as part of internal skills and readiness program (e.g. CYSA, Security +, CISSP, etc.).

The **Security Alarm Monitoring Specialists** support 24/7 operations at a high-security facility. The position involves active surveillance, access control monitoring, and communications management in support of Norfolk Naval Shipyard/Naval Sea Systems Alarm Monitoring Point (AMP) security mission. Candidates must demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to detail, and emotional composure under pressure.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate and monitor computerized Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), and Automated Access Control Systems (AACS).
+ Assess and interpret alarms; coordinate appropriate emergency or security response via Radio Dispatch Center (RDC).
+ Utilize access lists to verify clearance status and authorize entry into restricted areas.
+ Maintain and document logs of all alarm activities, hourly surveillance checks, and communications.
+ Respond professionally to non-emergency and emergency calls and direct them to the RDC as required.
+ Operate communications equipment, including radio consoles, portable radios, and secure telephones.
+ Use office equipment such as desktop/laptop computers, printers, fax machines, and scanners.
+ Create, maintain, and organize files and documentation according to SOPs.
+ Prepare supply requisitions for inventory maintenance of consumables and non-consumables.
+ Provide professional and tactful guidance to individuals denied access.
+ Refer complex or unresolved issues to the AMP Site Supervisor or designated authority.
+ Support emergent security incidents and events, including managing area load lists.
+ Maintain consistent work attendance, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.
+ 2+ years' experience in alarm monitoring, physical security, military operations center, emergency communications, or a similar environment is preferred.
+ Secret clearance required.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including the ability to quickly learn and operate multiple software systems, databases, and electronic monitoring tools.

Job Duties

• Assist with reducing the loss of inventory, time, and assets.
