Overview
The Security Systems Engineer will be responsible for the technical management of security infrastructure supporting both Windows and Linux-based network platforms. Key Responsibilities

As a Security Systems Administrator I, you will be in a position that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of security networks, domain servers, workstations and databases supporting physical security systems as well as the systems for access control, intrusion detecting and video surveillance. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise team members as required and provide technical guidance and mentoring to team
- Provide application and system support for future builds and releases, to include after-hour, weekend and non-core hour support
- Create and follow standard processes, plan effectively to complete tasks on schedule and clearly document results
- Monitor and complete daily file processing, monitor system backup jobs, examine log files and resolve problems as necessary
- Analyze system failures, replace or coordinate the replacement of failed equipment
- Development of project plans, system concept of operational briefings
- Coordinating project activities
- Implement configuration management, documentation policies and other project programmatic directives
- Provide system administration support to the system environments
- Ability to install, configure, security harden, maintain, patch, back-up MS Windows environment
- Ability to install, configure, administer and maintain MS Windows server environments, including but not limited to deployed (operational), test and development environments
- Ability to create a baseline server image for deployment on other servers
- Ability to work in a team environment, communicating and coordinating work among other systems administrators, software developers, systems engineering teams, mission engineering and management
- Manage and complete multiple projects with minimal guidance/supervision according to schedule and deadlines
- Travel as required

Important skills, knowledge and abilities for this role:
- Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc)
- Familiar with virtual server support
- Excellent problem solving skills, advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Experience with architecture of active directory domains and LAN/WAN networking
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL maintenance plans and SQL scripts in order to troubleshoot database anomalies
- Proficient in system administration of servers to include, installation, back-ups, patch management, monitoring results, hardware/software installs, de-installs, upgrades and relocations to ensure no operational impacts occur
- Familiar with ICD-503 accreditation plan
- Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to customers and management
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency
- Ability to work closely with others in a small team environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management, Information Systems Technology from an accredited college or equivalent relative experience.
- CompTIA Security+ required
- Minimum of ten (10) years recent network configuration, systems administration and management experience
- Windows System Administrator
- Other Certifications desired (ie: Network+, CCNA, CASP+, Azure Certification)
- Lenel OnGuard or other PACS experience desired

MANTECH seeks a motivated and customer-focused Senior Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA . In this role, you will help design, implement, and sustain mission-driven network solutions that enable secure enterprise operations. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in supporting Comply-to-Connect (C2C) systems across both classified and unclassified environments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engineering, designing, implementing, integrating, and sustaining Comply-to-Connect (C2C) deployment support to migrate, deploy, enhance, and maintain C2C services
- Managing and maintaining C2C appliances, applications, servers, and supporting infrastructure in unclassified and classified environments
- Coordinating with the network service provider to develop and maintain network architecture diagrams
- Evaluating and recommending changes or technology upgrades to support performance improvements, standardization, and alignment with industry best practices
- Monitoring and analyzing C2C performance and faults and proposing solutions for optimization
- Collaborating with other team members and customers across multiple levels to gather, supply, or coordinate technical and operational information
- Supporting Assessment and Authorization activities related to network security technologies, as applicable
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or an additional 4+ years of network experience in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years of experience in network support
- Hands-on experience with technologies supporting large-scale enterprise deployments or data centers
- Experience deploying and/or supporting enterprise security software such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), antivirus solutions, application firewalls, high availability systems, network management tools, and virtualization platforms
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, 802.1x, and core network security principles
- IAT Level II certification (GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing and supporting complex, multi-component software solutions
- Familiarity with vendor-agnostic C2C capabilities, open-source network tools, DoD integration practices, and sustainment procedures for delivering enterprise C2C expertise
- Proficiency with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Clearance Requirements:
- An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
