Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university ideally in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering or related field with a minimum of 15+ years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) or Network Engineer on programs and/or contracts with the customer space
• CASP OR CISSP a firm requirement
• CISSP-ISSEP DoD approved 8570 baseline certification is a firm requirement for Level III
• Strong writing skills
• Experience developing and documenting system security requirements and conducting requirements gap analysis.
• Knowledge of, and practical experience with the NIST Special Publications 800 Series, CNSSI 1253, and DoD 8500.
• Experience with network technologies and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of network protocols, communications systems and architectures

 Overview
The Security Systems Engineer will be responsible for the technical management of security infrastructure supporting both Windows and Linux-based network platforms. The role involves overseeing security system maintenance, upgrades, and expansion, ensuring all systems comply with Department of Defense (DoD) and DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) policies. This position is located at the Naval Station Anacostia Annex in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage security infrastructure on Windows and Linux-based networks. Ensure compliance with DoD policies and DISA guidelines for system and security updates, patches, and configurations.
li>System Maintenance: Conduct security system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting in line with DISA requirements, ensuring system performance, security, and availability.
• Network Operations: Maintain and monitor security systems, including IDS, HBSS, and related tools, to ensure the health of applications and systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Engineering, designing, implementing, integrating, and sustaining Comply-to-Connect (C2C) deployment support to migrate, deploy, enhance, and maintain C2C services
