The Food Service Worker at Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital assists in the preparation of patient meals ensuring compliance to therapeutic diet orders, patient safety modifications, and proper patient identification. Assembles, serves, delivers, and retrieves patient meals. Records patient meal information as assigned. Processes and delivers floor stock orders throughout the organization to support the nutritional needs of our patients. Participates as a member of the Nutrition Service team working in the dish room, performing cleaning procedures, and organizing and putting away department inventory and supply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: None, on the job training provided
Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent, ServSafe Certification, Prior work experience in food services

Development:
Participates in team meetings and process improvement activities.

Food Preparation and Patient Experience:

Records patients 'Intakes' including nutrient-specific intakes accurately per established procedures.
Provides menu information and explanations of ingredients and preparation methods as assigned.
Assists with food preparation as assigned including operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
Stock Management:
Refills condiments or other foods and supplies.
Fills and delivers floor stock to all areas.
Participates in stocking and organizing food and supply within the department.
Sanitation and Hygiene:
Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes work stations.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area.
Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
Collaboration and Team Work:
Participates in and supports a positive team work environment.
Works closely with other staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely delivery of orders.
Supports the Nutrition Services team by training to perform additional duties that may include but are not limited to dishwashing, cleaning, stocking supplies, organizing storage and work areas, or assisting with salad preparation.
At any time during a work shift, the employee may be assigned to perform other duties in order to meet patient, customer, and department needs.
