**SUMMARY**
The Specialist, Supply Chain will have complete and in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in Supply Chain (Planning, Inventory Management, Procurement, Logistics), capable of assisting with supply chain improvements and development to ensure customer demand fulfillment is balanced with service, delivery, and stock performance. This individual will provide support to the cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality) by assisting with creating a Production plan, keeping the Operations and Corporate Planning team updated with production performance and integrates their targets in daily plant activities. The Employee will help coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective schedule implementation, provide support or own NCs and CAPAs and assist in implementation of changes (e.g. via SCR process).
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Collaborate with the Manufacturing and Quality staff to ensure successful completion and on-time delivery of daily/ monthly build, being the primary point of contact and liaison for these departments
+ Develop Daily communication schedule with other departments to establish plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs
+ Assist in adherence to forecasts/safety stock, execution of samples for validations and recommend/execute alternatives if schedule exceeds capacity
+ Coordinate efforts with buyers and planners to investigate and alleviate material and service shortages impacting the schedule.
+ Help develop and implement best practices and processes to improve efficiency in the existing Supply Chain (e.g. apply intermediate level knowledge of contract negotiation, risk mitigation, distribution/ logistics principles to reduce costs and increase on-time delivery)
+ Assist in developing capacity models and metrics to drive execution to plan, while maintaining inventory and on time delivery targets.
+ Develop and execute purchasing plans to achieve proper balance between demand and supply
+ Manage a pool of suppliers critical to the business (including, but not limited to contract negotiations, business reviews, performance monitoring, establishing POs and ensuring on-time delivery)
+ Own or assist owners in NCs and CAPAs
+ Collaborate with LCM, PD, Quality and other groups in order to ensure implementation of changes (internal or supplier driven, via SCR)
+ All other tasks / duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor degree with 5+ years of experience in multiple areas of Supply Chain or Master degree with 3+ years of experience in multiple areas of Supply Chain
+ Working knowledge in an MRP environment (Oracle experience is a must), Agile and PowerBI.
+ Intermediate knowledge of MS suite (especially Excel)
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
+ Detail- oriented and able to work in a fast paced / dynamic environment.
+ Experience in a highly regulated environment (preferably in med device or pharma)
+ Training in JIT, TQM, Kanban, Kaizen, and Lean desired.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 lbs occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs frequently.
+ Ability to work in any manufacturing areas, including the Cleanroom spaces and labs.

Summary:
Under the general supervision of Brown University Health Supply Chain Logistics Managers Supply Chain Logistics Lead coordinates activities and functions of the Supply Chain Procedural Distribution and Central Supply Technicians throughout Brown University Health. Orients trains assigns work maintains work schedules and evaluates performance of staff in keeping with established policies procedures and standards of practice in their respective areas of responsibility. Participates in the development and implementation of policies procedures process improvements and budgets for the assigned Supply Chain area.
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for high-quality employee training directly and through delegation and shadowing other employees
Manages inventory of supplies in the department; monitors usage trends maintains par forms and assist with recalls backorders and substitute products.
Collaborates with Supply Chain Procurement and/or suppliers to coordinate delivery of supplies and equipment.
Coordinates priority and/or special-order requests for supplies and equipment as needed.
Runs and works various daily and periodic reports. Prepares and maintains records files and requisitions.
Assists employees with prioritization and problem resolution as issues occur such as authorizing urgent requisitions accommodating emergency or priority requests or adjusting assignments
Initiates structured par level and inventory management activities on an at least semi-annual basis for all assigned supply areas. Works with staff and clinical management to adjust.
Participates in the recruitment retention performance enhancement and competency assessment of staff in collaboration with Supply Chain Logistics Manager. Ensures compliance to established standards policies and procedures. Provides actionable feedback to employees to promote effective teamwork and satisfaction in the workplace in consultation with Supply Chain Logistics Manager.
Documents and addresses employee concerns related to work performance attendance or any other disciplinary problems. Measures beyond verbal communication or for egregious acts will be forwarded to a Supply Chain Logistics Manager for assessment and formal discipline
Regularly performs duties of employees to assist with workloads.
Responsible for technical policy and procedure and communication training for assigned areas.
Participates in yearly audit and inventory.
Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of 4 years of experience in related healthcare or warehouse field.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology aseptic techniques and inventory management.
A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively represent Brown University Health and Supply Chain in interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn necessary supporting information system.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sits stands and walks intermittently throughout the day. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds push and/or pull moderately heavy supplies materials and equipment.
Some exposure to the outside elements possible and some heat and cold discomfort.
Exposure to contaminated items strong detergents and antiseptic solutions.
Any potential hazard is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and the use of protective clothing and equipment as directed by department.
