The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of Flatiron, Dragados USA and VINCI has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45’ diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.

What you will be doing :- Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
- Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
- Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
- Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
- Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
- Prepare and manage a three-week work plan. Notifies engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develops solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
- Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
- Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
- Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
- Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel.
- Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 5+ years construction engineering experience.
- Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred.
- Specialized, technical knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
- Able to delegate and assign work to engineering team to progress the project production forward.
- Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
- Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
- Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.

The Site Manager/Construction Manager (SM/CM) will be the primary person responsible for executing major repairs and renovation projects at Naval Medical Center (NMCP), Portsmouth, VA. + Oversee the construction activities from start to finish including schedules, subcontract scopes, design and engineering reviews, constructability and value engineering reviews, cost estimating, and performance indicator presentations.
+ Create and maintain a cost-loaded project schedule, for every assigned project, in its native software (Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera P6, as determined by project requirements and Director), while also maintaining Procore and RMS. Monitor and track construction submittals, engineering shop drawings and invoices.
+ Responsible for coordinating subcontractor construction activities, schedule, safety and quality control.
+ Through a combination of design consultants and in-house employees, directly lead and coordinate all design efforts. Ensure milestone compliance for design deliverables.
+ Work with the senior PM to develop the scope of work for subcontracts, negotiate buyout of subcontractors, and manage the subcontractors to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.
+ Prepare and update project schedules, invoice requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reports

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct contractor efforts through the company's internal management system to ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Provide project visibility and ensure on-time completion of deliverables
- Manage day-to-day project efforts, addressing concerns, issues, and obstacles that arise across all assigned tasks
- Document and track all deliverables while ensuring effective coordination between different task efforts

Qualifications:

The role will support Newport News Shipbuildings (NNS) Fleet Sustainment group; specifically supporting the overhaul of Los Angeles class submarines at NNS. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills as they will coordinate with trades, engineering, project and program management, planning, and test personnel, as well as the Navy customer. An active DOD secret security clearance is required. Familiarization with shipyard overhaul or major maintenance availabilities and/or Los Angeles class submarine operational or shipyard experience are desired.
What You Will Do- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Independently demonstrate the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment.
- Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Job Description:
The Sr. Engineer will join the Facility Group to manage, plan, direct, and coordinate facility project activities to ensure projects are accomplished within the approved scope, budget, and schedule. The Sr. Engineer will oversee facility projects of varying sizes and complexity, ranging from greenfield/new construction to major renovations and minor upgrades of existing facilities. This position requires the ability to manage projects from the conceptual engineering phase through construction completion. Interaction with all Grifols' Departments, Vendors, and Contractors is critical for project success. The Sr. Engineer independently performs most assignments and provides direction for the project team to achieve facility project objectives and ensure resources are utilized efficiently. The position requires an understanding of project requirements to ensure projects are in compliance with cGMP design, applicable codes, and environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:

Manage facility project design and construction by coordinating, reviewing, and administering the work of Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors.

Create cost management solutions for facility projects. Manage vendors, engineers, and consultants to ensure facility projects are completed on budget and per schedules.

Responsible for project management, project planning, budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and project cost analyses.

Review and evaluate bid proposals/estimates with procurement.

Manage facility projects and project planning efforts, including both new installations and upgrades to existing facilities.

Ensure projects are in compliance with local/state/federal codes and regulations, including OSHA, FDA, Fire, Building/Safety, etc.

Track and evaluate critical data to recommend continuous process improvement.

Maintain communication between department management and all cross-functional teams.

Manage multiple local contractors to complete work in donor centers across the company.

Authorize and negotiate work proposals/estimates with local contractors.

Flexible travel with a potential of up to 25% travel required.
