Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement project schedules, monitoring progress and coordinating with subcontractors to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
- Enforce and promote strict adherence to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Manage and coordinate all on-site personnel, including subcontractors, suppliers, and skilled trades.
- Lead daily and weekly project meetings to review progress, discuss upcoming activities, and address any issues.
- Identify potential problems and conflicts, implementing proactive solutions to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Review and approve daily reports, timecards, and other project documentation.
- Ensure proper storage and management of materials and equipment on site.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives and inspectors on site.
- Oversee quality control procedures and conduct final walk-throughs and punch list completion.
- Train and mentor junior site staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience as a Site Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and sequences.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, safety regulations (OSHA 30 certification required), and quality control standards.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Construction Managers are needed to support early project execution planning and development and transition to Site Managers during EPC execution.
Bechtel has several current and prospective projects in early development planning phases which may result in Pre-FEED, FEED, for Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC), Construction Management (CM) or Project Management Contract (PMC) execution contract awards. Candidates will be hired initially to work in Houston Texas on a business trip or short-term assignment and eventually deploy to a long-term assignment at one of our project sites. Project sites can be in multiple locations throughout the US depending on Global Business Unit (GBU) need.
Projects/Prospects include:
- Energy GBU - LNG, Blue Hydrogen/Ammonia, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUE), New Energies, Olefins and Derivatives and Chemicals and Fuels sectors.
- Manufacturing and Technologies GBU Cloud and AI Hyperscale Data Centers, Semiconductor Manufacturing Facilities, and Electric Vehicles (EV) Value Chain (battery manufacturing and charging infrastructure).
- Mining and Metals GBU Mining & Critical Minerals Projects, Industrial Water Supply Systems, Refineries and Smelters (processing and site infrastructure) and Mine Site reclamation support
- Infrastructure GBU Solar and Wind Project execution, Combine Cycle Power Generating Facilities, Stored Hydro Projects and Heavy Civil Project Projects (road, highway, and airports)
- Nuclear, Security and Environmental GBU Nuclear Projects (Small Module Reactors or Large AP1000) facilities, Government Security Facilities, and other DOD or DOE Infrastructure Projects.
Job Summary:
Construction Manager's role and responsibilities during early project phases such as feasibility studies, Pre-FEED and FEED include all levels of construction execution planning (conceptual, strategic, and detailed planning), interfacing with client project team members to develop project execution strategy, providing construction input to engineering groups on site layouts and constructability initiatives, providing construction input to supply chain groups for use in subcontract tender scope packages and equipment/bulk materials purchase requisitions, providing input to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup planning and championing safety leadership throughout all phases of project development and execution.
Responsibilities also include developing the temporary construction facilities plan, construction equipment plan, and construction professional staffing plan. Interactions with workforce services group will be required to develop craft professional execution strategy, wage package development, hiring plans and training plans.
Project controls interaction will provide construction plan/schedule input for inclusion in overall EPC schedule and providing construction deliverables for inclusion in project estimates and overall proposal.
Construction Manager's role will transition to a Site Manager upon construction mobilization. The Site Manager is responsible for all site related activities including employee health, safety, and welfare, safety and environmental compliance, security, construction supervision, quality control, field engineering, field procurement, material management and project controls. The Site Manager acts as the single point of authority for the day-to-day operation of the site.

- Provides technical and administrative direction to assigned subordinate construction staff including home office construction coordinators, field engineers and superintendents, and jobsite construction management team (CMT) and jobsite personnel contacts.
- Home office contacts are with project management team (PMT) personnel, engineering and supply chain personnel, and company representatives. Jobsite contacts are with jobsite personnel including construction management team (CMT) personnel, superintendents and subcontractors related to jobsite construction activities and the company's management team and operating personnel.
Major Responsibilities:
- Directs and manages all professional field staff, direct hire craft professionals, and subcontracted scopes related to the construction of the project.
- Has overall responsibility for scope execution, ensuring that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety, and to customer and Bechtel performance expectations.
- Provides the leadership and oversight to the Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) program for all jobsite activities to achieve achievements aligned with Bechtel's Destination Zero objectives and commitments.
- Provides leadership and oversight to implement Bechtel's Vision Values and Commitments (VV&C), Bechtel Behavioral Framework, and Customer Based Leadership (CBL) programs.
- Provides leadership and oversight to implement Bechtel's Quality Absolutes and People Based Quality program.
- Facilitates the development, communication, implementation, update, and continual use of the Project Construction Execution Plan.
- Provides leadership and oversight to comply with all Department of Energy requirements of the project.
- Promotes the use of constructability during project execution.
- Reviews and approves project control systems that measure progress/performance, provide early warning of deviations from plans and budgets, and identify corrective actions for mitigation.
- Participates in the preparation and presentation of the Project Financial Status Report (PFSR) for the construction portions of the project.
- Establishes a plan to provide training opportunities for project personnel. Assists in the training of new project supervisors and other project personnel in key positions through both formal training courses and on-the-job training.
- Promotes the management concept of Continuous Improvement (CI) among all members of the jobsite team. Leads the CI process for the customer, Bechtel, and JV partner. Promotes, monitors, and mentors the concept of total installed cost (TIC).
- Provides leadership and oversight to promote team building across the project.
- Provides leadership and oversight to successfully transition from bulk construction to systems turnover and completion and to pre-commissioning and commissioning/start-up.
- Due to the nature of project work, candidates are expected to be mobile and travel frequently based on project needs
Education and Experience Requirements:
- University/B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field plus 10 years of experience or 15 years of equivalent experience in heavy industrial construction with site management experience in-lieu of a university degree.
- 10-15 years minimum actual construction management/site management experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in craft professional supervision.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in contract/subcontract management.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft professional crews and other project personnel.

What You'll Do:
The Director of Land Development is responsible for supervising all land development field activities for assigned communities, from pre-construction meetings to bond release.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure projects meet governmental requirements and individual site plans and specifications.
- Monitor land development schedules on assigned communities.
- Ensure completion of land development improvements for bond reductions and release.
- Maintain land development budgets.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the VP of Entitlements and Land.
- Coordinate the hiring and daily management of Subcontractors for land development.
- Prepare land development budgets for the entitlement process for management approval.
- Prepare Land Development budgets, projects, and schedules.
- Coordinate all consultant interaction and work directly with various approval agencies, including City and County Planning, Engineering, Zoning, XCEL, HOA Departments related to all entitlement processes and other issues that arise.
- Negotiate purchase price and terms.
- Write LOI's and review all contracts.
- Review amended contracts.
- Manage the surety process for all projects.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
What You Have:
- Experience in Land Acquisitions, Planning and Development
- Knowledge of the area land market.
- Ability to plan, organize, manage, and supervise activities of direct reports.
- Highly self-motivated with excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Professional written and verbal communication ability.
Your Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business or Urban Planning, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in residential construction, Single or Multi-Family Land Development.
- Proficient in MS Office.
