We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary part-time **Electronics Design Engineer - Space Exploration Electronic Systems** to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.
The **Electronics Design Engineer - Space Exploration Electronic Systems** will:
+ Report directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of group of over 45 other Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
+ Work directly with or as a Team Lead and associated Electrical Engineers on a given project.
+ Support new designs from conception, analysis, and manufacturing, through to operational test and deployment.
+ Provide design support and guidance in various aspects of Electronics System Development.
+ Be familiar with NASA specifications for Electronics Component development.
+ Develop component test stand architectures for various components.
+ Design and generate electrical component and lab instrumentation test system designs.
+ Develop and or modify LabVIEW code for various test systems.
+ Develop detailed test verification procedures.
+ Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to build and test designed systems.
+ Develop and test various breakout boxes and digital/analog sensor emulation systems.
+ Perform electrical evaluation/selection of instrumentation (pressure transducers, flow meters, pumps, fans, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc.).
+ Troubleshoot and repair existing test systems.
+ Conduct analog and digital printed circuit board design for various application needs.
+ Develop test software modules to perform specific tests.
+ Work with eCAD designer to develop printed circuit board designs.
+ Work in a laboratory environment, following standard operating procedures.
+ Perform other duties as required and assigned.
**Requisition Qualifications:**

+ Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience.
+ Prior experience with Power Supply Design, Power supply soft start circuit design, and switching regulators
+ Prior experience with power supply remote senses, power distribution for PCB layout, Power Supply Phase Impedance measurements, and Power Supply efficiency calculation.
+ Prior experience in test of power supply and conditioning systems.
+ Prior experience with bonding and grounding
+ Prior experience with circuit design of analog PCB, digital PCB, and power PCB.
+ Prior experience with electrical schematic entry and printed circuit board layout tools such as Altium Designer, and version control software like Subversion (SVN).

The **EMI/EMC Analyst - Space Exploration Avionics Systems** will:

+ Work with other EMI/EMC engineers in support of the Avionics Division on-site at NASA Johnson Space Center.
+ Support EMI/EMC testing performed on-site and off-site at EMI/EMC test chambers on various space-flight electronic hardware systems.
+ Work with the NASA E3 Engineer, major contractors, and sub-contractors, both domestic and foreign, within their engineering disciplines for hardware E3 designing.
+ Support E3 test projects by developing Test Requirements, Test Plans and Test Procedures.
+ Witness E3 testing, providing real-time data analysis, troubleshooting, reduce the test data, and providing a Quick Test Report prior to writing the final test report.
+ Prepare update briefings to management on any significant tests that are performedin the EMI facility.
+ Support Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews; EMC analyses (analytical and numerical), E3 Test Readiness Reviews and witness E3 tests.
+ Support design engineers with consultation and review of electronic circuitry, bonding, grounding and cable designs for EMC compliance.
+ Support projects in new modeling and simulation techniques for design and testing hardware.
+ Support design engineers in bench top lab EMI assessments/Engineering Evaluations.
+ Develop correlation equations to estimate pass/fail criteria in onsite EMI chambers.
+ Be able to look at programs from a system perspective with respect to EMC/EMI areas early in a project. This may include Risk Analysis and recommendations for design changes.
+ While working in a laboratory environment, following standard operating procedures and following safety protocols established by the test facility.

**Who We Are**
We are a motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research exploring factors linked with health and risk behavior in regard to recreational and medicinal Cannabis use, anxiety, pain management, memory, and cognition. This position is well suited for a Ph.D. graduate pursuing a research career in cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, translational human participant research, or other clinical or biomedical research.
**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
Expected responsibilities:
+ We seek a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to aid with NIH-funded studies, including ERP studies of acute influences of THC and CBD on memory encoding and retrieval processes and clinical trials focused on biobehavioral health outcomes, such as substance use, pain, anxiety, sleep, and immune markers.
+ Primary responsibilities include the supervision, design, implementation, analysis, and publication of EEG and clinically relevant data.
+ The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for coordinating with the Pl and investigative team in order to manage the collection of behavioral and biological data, correspondence with the IRB regarding updates and amendments to relevant protocols, and supervision and training of research staff.
+ The postdoctoral research associate will work closely with the PI to ensure data quality control and the assurance of data safety and monitoring, and in this role will assist the PI to conduct quarterly meetings with the external Data Safety and Monitoring Board.
+ Support for grant writing, data management and analysis, and manuscript preparation will also be expected.
+ Specifically, it is expected that the postdoctoral research associate will take a lead role in analyzing data, preparing data for presentation at professional conferences, and will collaborate with the PI and Co-Investigators to submit manuscripts for publication.

**Required Skills:**
Research Scientist Responsibilities:
1. Perform research and develop solutions to computer software and computer hardware problems.
2. Research, design, and develop new optimization algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta's platforms.
3. Design and implement large-scale distributed software systems to serve large numbers of complex requests simultaneously and without failure.
4. Utilize technical research background, train new ranking models, and run experiments.
5. Create tools for migrating large bodies of user data across systems for new products, scalability efforts, and development of new core infrastructure.
6. Use machine learning, statistics, or other data techniques to build algorithms.
7. Suggest, collect, and synthesize system requirements from stakeholders and create effective feature roadmaps.
8. Analyze and resolve computer challenges from a system engineering standpoint.
9. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
10. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
11. Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

13. Requires a Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
14. Position also requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
15. 1. Algorithms, data structures, or systems software
16. 2. Solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
17. 3. Gathering, manipulating, or analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
18. 4. Communicating complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
19. 5. Research in topics closely related to machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, signal processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, or computer vision
20. 6. Performing research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, or other modalities) and advances the technology of intelligent machines
21. 7. Devising better data-driven models of human behavior
22. 8. Developing highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, statistics, regression, rules-based models, or mathematical models
23. and 9. Java, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python

$232,652/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
