Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or related curriculum
- Active CPA accreditation
- Experience as a Staff Accountant in Public Accounting or equivalent experience
- Proficient at completing basic individual tax returns
- Understands importance of completing tax returns and assigned tasks accurately and with efficiency
- Proficient in Ultra Tax, Fixed Asset Solutions, and Advance Flow
- Employee has a sense of urgency or promptness to achieve goals
- Be able to complete various entity tax returns (1120S, 1040, 1065)
- Has completed a tax research assignment
- Identify 1 to 2 areas of interest in industry to specialize in tax
- Ability to lead staff and complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Understanding of Basic Financial Statements.
- Ability to reconcile trial balance to source documents.
- Create a depreciation schedule; basic understanding of depreciable lives and methods.
- Able to identify required payroll tax return filings, 941, 940, W-2, 1099s and their purpose.
- Ability to reconcile payroll liabilities and prepare payroll tax return filings.
- Ability to reconcile a simple bank statement.
- Basic understanding of QuickBooks (importing, exporting, data entry, report preparation).
- Become actively involved with or highly proficient in a technical niche
- Proficient in tax research including knowledge of resources available
- Research/problem solve on own
- Be involved in client meetings
- Ability to assist and train staff
- Review staff prepared 1040 returns

The Team
We are seeking a Manager to join our growing tax team. An ideal candidate would have a diverse tax and business consulting background, strong business acumen and critical thinking to assist in finding practical business solutions for our clients.
How you will contribute
As a Manager within A&M Tax practice, you will:
- Manage tax consulting projects involving various technical areas, such as design and implementation of business reorganizations and transactions, legal entity rationalizations, intercompany clean-up, tax function stand-up or integration, by developing workplans, monitoring the status of action items and driving their completion, drafting notes to various parties, preparing or reviewing various tax deliverables, and reviewing legal documentation pertaining to the project;
- Identify multinational/cross-border tax issues and opportunities and related coordination with specialists and local country tax advisors to manage delivery of integrated global tax advice;
- Conduct research and analysis of a wide range of US and foreign tax issues related to corporate taxes, business transactions, reorganizations, restructuring and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates;
- Analyze and process different datasets and documents, including tax returns and elections, legal entity organizational charts, financial statements, fixed asset registers and tax depreciation schedules, purchase and sale agreements, due diligence reports, transaction and restructuring slide decks, tax policies, technical memoranda, transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements, accounting data, and valuation reports, in order to draw conclusions and develop various tax deliverables in the form of memorandums, Excel spreadsheets, emails, or PowerPoint presentations;
- Assist with tax compliance, including tax provision, tax extension and tax return preparation and review;
- Deliver a high-quality, zero-defect work product on time and on budget;
- Interface with clients to obtain information, present our findings and deliverables, and discuss questions and issues through live meetings and calls or emails;
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, understand critical areas of importance, and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations;
- Develop solid client relationships built on exceeding expectations and dependability and network with prospective clients;
- Support business development, by creating business development resources and proposal materials and identifying potential opportunities;
- Work with a multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional team to facilitate the preparation and initial review of various deliverables and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines;
- Manage risk, financial performance, and staffing for multiple engagements at once, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team and communicate progress to the project team on a timely manner;
- Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns by participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, delegating appropriate tasks and reviewing work products, managing workloads and deadlines, providing timely performance feedback, sharing best practices, and fostering our team-based atmosphere; and
- Encourage open expression of ideas and opinions and actively seek opportunities for others to share diverse experiences and perspectives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4+ years of relevant corporate tax consulting experience, including experience in federal and international taxation
- CPA or Licensed Attorney
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills and ability to articulate complex tax concepts in plain English
- Strong analytical and research skills and ability to understand and effectively apply tax concepts to client situations
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong business development skills and proactive and positive attitude
- High motivation to learn and grow and actively identifies trends and new ideas for enhancing solutions and approaches
- Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment, on multiple projects at the same time

The salary range is $110,000 - $140,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. Job DescriptionCrowe's dynamic and entrepreneurial Federal Tax Consulting Services practice incorporates cutting edge technology into an innovative team-based approach to deliver specialized federal tax consulting to clients ranging from middle market companies to the Fortune 500. The group is currently searching for a manager to lead projects in the areas of federal credits including research and development ("R&D") tax credits, fixed asset services including cost segregation studies and fixed asset outsourcing, and Green Building tax incentives such as Sections 179D and 45L.
A successful candidate will be prepared to assist the current leadership in expanding revenue by working with practice offices on existing clients and external opportunities coming through our business development team and possess the following skills:
- Develop and execute project work plans
- Lead technical interviews with client personnel such as scientists and engineers
- Develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results
- Identify value-added opportunities and work in a team environment to develop business
- Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx.
- Ability to mentor and develop staff and seniors, including on the job technical training and coaching.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Personal drive to develop self/others and provide leadership insight to the existing leadership team
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or accounting, MST is a plus
- At least 4+ years experience in public accounting; strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience
- Experience in the subject matter areas described above preferred
- Proficiency with building energy modeling software required for a manager focused in our Green Building services
- Moderate travel may be required
- CPA or PE credential required

Job Summary:
The Principal is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing tax services with their Practice area.
Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryans Key Results
People:
- Works within the Practice to develop new tax planning ideas to deliver to global clients.
- Supervises consulting work delegated to staff and managers.
