Our client is not a CPA firm, they operate as an extension of their clients' in-house teams, offering deep technical expertise and practical support on complex business and tax matters.
Projects are dynamic, client-facing, and vary throughout the year. No core compliance season and no 80-hour weeks.
What You'll Work On
As a Manager, you'll lead or support strategic tax consulting engagements that span multiple areas of corporate tax and finance. Projects vary by client and need but typically include:
- ASC 740 tax provision support and consulting, including carve-outs and financial reporting readiness
- General corporate tax advisory, structuring, and planning
- Tax technical accounting research and documentation for complex or emerging issues
- M&A tax support, including transaction structuring and post-merger integration
- Support for IPO readiness and public company transitions
- IRS and state audit support, controversy resolution, and audit defense
- International tax planning and compliance consulting
- Partnership with client leadership and cross-functional finance teams
- 6+ years of tax experience, ideally in a large or mid-market public accounting firm preferred
- Strong technical background in corporate and ASC 740 tax matters
- Experience with complex clients, preferably Fortune 1000 or large private companies
- Comfortable working directly with CFOs, controllers, and tax directors
- CPA or JD/LLM preferred (not required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ready to move beyond compliance and apply your skills in a strategic, consultative role

Position will report to Managing Partner and Senior Manager. Work involves providing accounting, tax, and other services relating to the Accounting, Consulting & Tax practice area. Duties include maintaining clients’ books of record, tax preparation, involvement in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, research and compliance assignments. Initially, a staff accountant is given less complex accounting, tax, and related assignments. As they gain experience, the complexity of assignments will increase and responsibilities will be greater. Involvement in reviews, audits, studies, and data analysis. Candidate must be self-motivated and can work independently. Training will be provided. Core responsibilities and abilities include:
Responsibilities
- Understand the rules, requirements, code of conduct and standards of the AICPA, and the authoritative literature established by the FASB, GASB, and the PCAOB
- Prior experience in CPA firm is preferred and is a plus
- Obtain a working knowledge of accounting and tax research techniques and various research sources
- Proficient in the use of QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop) and able to develop and train
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Perform accounting and related services or support based on client needs
- Some proficiency in the preparation of financial statements
- Some proficiency in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns prepared by the firm
- Analysis of data collected from research and provided by clients
- Assist firm staff with other engagements when requested
- Assist with the preparation of financial and consulting reports
- Work will be performed at the firm’s office or on the client’s premises

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting (Finance majors may be considered)

Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or related curriculum
- Active CPA accreditation

- Ability to reconcile a simple bank statement.
- Basic understanding of QuickBooks (importing, exporting, data entry, report preparation).

The Team
We are seeking a Manager to join our growing tax team. An ideal candidate would have a diverse tax and business consulting background, strong business acumen and critical thinking to assist in finding practical business solutions for our clients.
How you will contribute
As a Manager within A&M Tax practice, you will:
- Manage tax consulting projects involving various technical areas, such as design and implementation of business reorganizations and transactions, legal entity rationalizations, intercompany clean-up, tax function stand-up or integration, by developing workplans, monitoring the status of action items and driving their completion, drafting notes to various parties, preparing or reviewing various tax deliverables, and reviewing legal documentation pertaining to the project;
- Identify multinational/cross-border tax issues and opportunities and related coordination with specialists and local country tax advisors to manage delivery of integrated global tax advice;
- Conduct research and analysis of a wide range of US and foreign tax issues related to corporate taxes, business transactions, reorganizations, restructuring and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates;
- Analyze and process different datasets and documents, including tax returns and elections, legal entity organizational charts, financial statements, fixed asset registers and tax depreciation schedules, purchase and sale agreements, due diligence reports, transaction and restructuring slide decks, tax policies, technical memoranda, transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements, accounting data, and valuation reports, in order to draw conclusions and develop various tax deliverables in the form of memorandums, Excel spreadsheets, emails, or PowerPoint presentations;
- Assist with tax compliance, including tax provision, tax extension and tax return preparation and review;
- Deliver a high-quality, zero-defect work product on time and on budget;
- Interface with clients to obtain information, present our findings and deliverables, and discuss questions and issues through live meetings and calls or emails;
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, understand critical areas of importance, and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations;
- Develop solid client relationships built on exceeding expectations and dependability and network with prospective clients;
- Support business development, by creating business development resources and proposal materials and identifying potential opportunities;
- Work with a multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional team to facilitate the preparation and initial review of various deliverables and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines;
- Manage risk, financial performance, and staffing for multiple engagements at once, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team and communicate progress to the project team on a timely manner;

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4+ years of relevant corporate tax consulting experience, including experience in federal and international taxation

The Team
We are seeking a Manager to join our growing tax team. An ideal candidate would have a diverse tax and business consulting background, strong business acumen and critical thinking to assist in finding practical business solutions for our clients.
How you will contribute
As a Manager within A&M Tax practice, you will:
- Manage tax consulting projects involving various technical areas, such as design and implementation of business reorganizations and transactions, legal entity rationalizations, intercompany clean-up, tax function stand-up or integration, by developing workplans, monitoring the status of action items and driving their completion, drafting notes to various parties, preparing or reviewing various tax deliverables, and reviewing legal documentation pertaining to the project;
- Identify multinational/cross-border tax issues and opportunities and related coordination with specialists and local country tax advisors to manage delivery of integrated global tax advice;
- Conduct research and analysis of a wide range of US and foreign tax issues related to corporate taxes, business transactions, reorganizations, restructuring and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates;
- Analyze and process different datasets and documents, including tax returns and elections, legal entity organizational charts, financial statements, fixed asset registers and tax depreciation schedules, purchase and sale agreements, due diligence reports, transaction and restructuring slide decks, tax policies, technical memoranda, transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements, accounting data, and valuation reports, in order to draw conclusions and develop various tax deliverables in the form of memorandums, Excel spreadsheets, emails, or PowerPoint presentations;
- Assist with tax compliance, including tax provision, tax extension and tax return preparation and review;
- Deliver a high-quality, zero-defect work product on time and on budget;
- Interface with clients to obtain information, present our findings and deliverables, and discuss questions and issues through live meetings and calls or emails;
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, understand critical areas of importance, and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations;
- Develop solid client relationships built on exceeding expectations and dependability and network with prospective clients;
- Support business development, by creating business development resources and proposal materials and identifying potential opportunities;
- Work with a multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional team to facilitate the preparation and initial review of various deliverables and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines;
- Manage risk, financial performance, and staffing for multiple engagements at once, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team and communicate progress to the project team on a timely manner;
