Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives team transporter to and from scheduled races in a safe, legal and courteous manner. Meets arrival and departure times specified by the Team Manager.
- Maintains an accurate driver logbook at all times.
- Reports for government-required random substance abuse testing as requested.
- Maintains detailed records and performs the manufacturer recommended scheduled maintenance for the SuperMotocross racing team transporter, tractor, support vehicles and all equipment housed in the transporter.
- Ensures that repairs or service required is scheduled in a timely manner so the performance of the race team is not compromised.
- Maintains current knowledge of the operation of all systems of the transporter, tractor, support vehicles and equipment housed in the transporter.
- Performs routine repairs and replacement of damaged or broken equipment.
- Ensures each transported item or vehicle is secured in a specific location to avoid any damage that could occur in transit.
- Purchases supplies for transporter and race team.
- Prepares food for race staff and riders as requested. Maintains knowledge of food requests and diet requirements and a written food preference list at all times.
- Maintains the outside of transporter to the highest level including but not limited to, washing each race week, waxing every 2-3 months, polishing wheel rims every month, disinfecting tanks, and cleaning awning and privacy panels.
- Maintains the inside of transporter to the highest levels including but not limited, to cleaning cabinets, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and appliances, etc.
- Cleans and maintains Kawasaki Mule each week including checking oil and fluid levels.
- Ensures transporter has ample supply of race fuel. Ensures adequate supply of racing air filters are oiled with the oil specified by Team Manager.
- Leads the set-up and tear down of hospitality areas as well as main work awning and privacy panels. Responsible for maintaining these work areas in a clean and organized manner. Conducts repairs as needed.
- Assists the Team Manager or Public relations group with organizing team autograph sessions as well as organizing and inventorying all public relations related materials supplied in transporter.
- Reconditions, reviews and inspects transporter, tractor, support vehicles and all equipment after racing season to make proper repairs and/or adjustments in preparation for the next race season.
- Assists the Parts Supervisor in maintaining the transporter inventory of race-related parts and supplies.
- Consistently reflects a positive influence on the Kawasaki professional SuperMotocross racing team.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all company information, product technology, research and development components etc.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is mandatory; a bachelors degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college is preferred; and minimum ten years related experience and/or training in race team transportation/long haul driving environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must maintain current Class A Chauffeur's license.

Use Wayfair inventory systems and tools to ensure "perfect" orders run smoothly from receipt at the terminal to dispatching for delivery

Basic Purpose
Positions in this job family are responsible for planning, supervising, and performing technical and professional level transportation work. Responsibilities may be assigned in any area of transportation work, including research, planning and design, survey, environmental studies, bid lettings, construction, maintenance, or project management. Responsibilities may include all phases of highway and bridge construction, field management of utilities or property appraisal and acquisition, relocation assistance, traffic operations, materials testing and sampling, or materials laboratory management.

General Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
We're looking for a Transportation Specialist based out of our San Leandro location, to coordinate the movement of life-saving blood products across our communities. In this vital role, you'll schedule and dispatch both paid and volunteer drivers, manage transportation logistics, and ensure timely, safe deliveries to hospitals and facilities.
You'll also support the implementation of departmental programs, assist with remote team building for employees and volunteers, and gather feedback from end customers to continuously improve service. In addition, you'll participate in volunteer engagement activities and events-helping to build and energize a compassionate, mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries and shuttles including empty box pickups utilizing vendors/volunteers and ARC paid couriers based on the most economical and cost-effective means.
- Coordinate pickups of collected products (time-sensitive and non-time sensitive) from mobiles, fixed sites and staging sites utilizing the most economical and cost-effective means. Make proactive adjustments to routes on an as needed basis due to inclement weather, major traffic issues, and special events, etc.
- Schedule and supervise volunteers and work with volunteer Manager to increase volunteer base. Participate in/plan local volunteer recognition events.
- Engage volunteers as equal team members with specific responsibilities. Support the workforce engagement team; assist with the training and skill development of volunteers to enable mission delivery.
- Interact with internal and external customers to provide updates/status. Monitor electronic manifest to provide tracking of couriers and deliveries to customers. Perform Connect activities to ensure that we are responding in real time to provide better service to our customers.
- Work with supply management group and contracting as needed.
Evaluate and ensure the proper vehicle needs are being met for the site and coordinate the request with the Fleet Coordinator. Work with Fleet for vehicle needs. - Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
Standard Schedule: Mon-Fri. 9AM to 5:30PM or 10AM to 6:30PM. Therei is an on-call requirment; may work unscheduled hours/days and weekends, travel up to 25% within the region.
This is an on-site position; and will work in our San Leandro location.
The salary range for this position is: $68,640-$71,000 year

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- A valid driver's license and clean DMV record is required.
- Ability to work on a team. Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of collaboration with diverse groups and individuals, managing multiple priorities, facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management.
- Additionally, this position requires ability for planning, public speaking, project management and process improvement. Individual must be customer oriented, organized, and able to operate with an orientation toward solutions with an external focus, and team orientation.
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Travel: Travel may be required. For positions applicable to Disaster Services, deployment to disaster operations outside the assigned region is required.
