Materials Manager
Location: Midlothian, TX
Pay: $90,000 - $110,000 annually
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Our client, a leader in customized supply chain solutions for top brands, retailers, and foodservice providers, is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join their team.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead the site Materials Management team, overseeing scheduling, procurement, inventory control, and warehouse operations.

  • Maintain inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.

  • Develop production schedules that align with customer needs and optimize manufacturing efficiency.

  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support production, managing procurement costs and inventory levels.

  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and inter-plant movements to ensure efficient material flow and space utilization.

  • Execute and reconcile inventory counts and adjustments in Oracle inventory systems.

  • Utilize Oracle ASCP and modules for procurement, scheduling, and inventory control.

  • Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and GMP standards in all warehouse operations.

  • Collaborate with site leadership on cross-functional improvements and site-wide performance.

Why You'd Be a Great Fit:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in supervisory or management roles within production, scheduling, or logistics.

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, cost control, and transportation.

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle ERP, for production and inventory management.

  • Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis (MS Excel), and cross-functional communication.

  • Beverage or aseptic manufacturing experience is a plus.

What you will do in this role:
+ Deliver supplies in an accurate and timely manner
+ Is authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position
+ Place safety stock in proper location
+ Receive expedited deliveries, accurately key receiving into the SMART system, and deliver to appropriate department(s)
+ Receive all cross-docked items into the SMART system as appropriate
+ Review Min/Max for storeroom safety stock daily and place orders appropriately
+ Count par level areas (POU areas) weekly according to schedule
+ Ensure POU items have the appropriate barcodes
+ Perform QA random checks on totes per approved policy
+ Rotate stock in POU areas and backup storeroom areas to ensure no items are out of date
+ Check after-hour logs for charges and determine how to avoid reoccurrence

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all matters related to Regional Distribution, Supply Chain and Transportation.
  • Manage corporate Regional Distribution Centers budget.
  • Serve as primary corporate contact for all Regional Distribution Center managers.
  • Responsible for corporate and governmental compliance in all matters related to domestic and International shipping, customs and import/export requirements and transportation documentation.
  • Responsible for performance process improvements and service accountability of Regional Distribution Centers.
  • Monitor vendor performance in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with RealTruck logistic related matters.
  • Supervise Distribution Center Managers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of large box distribution and fulfillment in both B2B and B2C experience.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and mentor people professionally.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to network professionally.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prepare and complete action plans, resolve problems, identify trends, and determine system improvements.

The Supply Chain Services Tech I performs key supply distribution roles in Supply Chain Services and the facility. This person ensures consistent and accurate delivery of supplies to department areas. They engage in Perpetual Inventory maintenance and documentation. This person will perform other necessary Supply Chain Services distribution roles as assigned.

**Essential Functions of the Role**
+ Performs par replenishment functions in an efficient and timely way.
+ Performs consistent and timely delivery of products to facility departments.
+ Performs all replenishment and distribution processes within the Lawson System with accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Maintains orderly and organized work area to help efficient processes and staff cross-training opportunities.
+ Maintains ownership of supply par inventory volume trends and makes adjustments as directed by appropriate Supply Chain Supervisor/Manager/Director.
+ Checks supplies for condition of products, correct catalog numbers, quantities, expiration dates, and sizes of items.
+ Enters par replenishment information accurately in the Lawson System. Processes and resolves all necessary Lawson Issues/Returns accurately.
+ Ensures accurate tracking of supply data such as back-orders, manufacturer numbers, expiration dates, product recalls, lot numbers, etc. as needed.
+ Engages in problem-solving to ensure accurate inventory Quantities-on-Hand. Performs inventory cycle counts and ensures accurate Quantities-on-Hand in replenishment areas.
+ Performs all necessary patient-charging functions as instructed by SCS Supervisor/Manager/Director.
**Key Success Factors**
+ Basic communication skills.
+ Basic PC and math skills.
+ Ability to operate handling equipment including hand-trucks, pickers, pallet jacks, and other powered warehouse equipment.
+ 6 months relevant experience.

  • Work with Sales, Alliances and the executive team to set revenue goals for product(s) under management. 
  • Ongoing responsibility of meeting revenue goals for product line; this includes tactical assistance with individual account situations and strategic guidance of revenue recognition. 
  • Prospect tracking, understanding why we lose and why we win to ensure the product meets the market needs.
  • Provide organizational enablement & sales support by coordinate with account managers to make sure new features will meet expectations of clients.
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing to create and deliver materials and strategies that demonstrate the value and competitive differentiation of our offerings
  • Work with Product Marketing on the creation and delivery of sales tools and collateral for product(s) under management.
  • Determine and solicit possible speaking and other publicity opportunities related to the product effort
  • Develop positioning strategy and product plan
  • Develop deep understanding of the market segments and deliver market segment plans specific to the market they own
  • Product Planning: Gather inputs, establish direction and formulate the product features for the next version(s) of products. 
  • Develop product functional specifications
  • Lead the development effort to ensure product meets vision
  • Oversee development of products to ensure product correctness and success.  

Requirements for success:

  • 3-7 years experience managing products as a product manager
  • Supply Chain experience preferred
  • EDI knowledge and experience is a plus!
  • Experience with Microsoft Accounting Software is preferred (Microsoft Dynamics, BC, GP, D3FO etc)

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, IT, or related field preferred.
