- Team Management:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the work of staff to ensure alignment with organizational requirements and core values. Lead, train, and mentor warehouse associates maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Daily Operations:
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities and freight forwarding operations across ocean, ground and some air, including picking, packing, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Implement schedule and policy changes as needed.
- Oversee load planning for ocean containers, including optimal cargo arrangement weight distribution and securing methods to maximize efficiency and prevent damages as well as hazmat segregation requirements
- Coordinate with carriers, agents and vendors to meet service requirements.
- Coordinate with port authorities and terminal operations to ensure smooth cargo handling and turnaround.
- Process Improvement & Design:
- Availability to analyze, understand, design, and implement new processes for new and existing customers, in warehousing, cross-docking, and freight forwarding operations.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall warehouse performance.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all operations comply with quality standards and customer requirements. Address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, order accuracy, and shipment status.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS):
- Utilize and manage WMS to track inventory, optimize workflow, and ensure accuracy in both warehouse and freight forwarding modules.
- Customer and Shipper Complaints:
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
- Act as escalation point for operational issues and affecting customers
- Freight and Logistics Management:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. Manage relationships with freight carriers and resolve logistical issues. Oversee the dispatching, routing, and tracking of goods.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions. Promote safe work activities by attending safety meetings and collaborating with staff.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits
- Ensure all hazmat shipments meet the IMDG code and requirements for classification, packaging, marking, labeling and documentation.
- Food Grade Compliance:
- Maintain and enforce standards for a food-grade warehouse environment, including cleanliness, temperature control, and pest management.
- Facility Operations:
- Perform tasks related to receiving, shipping, storing, distributing, and delivering products, parts, and materials. Assemble, address, stamp, pack, unpack, and arrange transportation of products. Load, unload, move, or store items according to documentation and instructions.
- Facility Security:
- Conduct regular inspections of both interior and exterior perimeters to ensure a secure and safe environment. Continuously assess security measures and provide recommendations for enhancements as needed.
- Facility / MHE Maintenance Oversight:
- Review facility maintenance concerns, identify required services, and coordinate with appropriate vendors to address and resolve all facility-related maintenance requests and issues.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, coordination, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and other relevant certifications, is required.
- Six Sigma and LEAN Environment: Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and experience working in a LEAN environment is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, with a focus on pick and pack operations and freight management, is required.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications is required.
- Leadership and Development: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong organizational and communication skills, is required.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of making quick and effective decisions under pressure, are required.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of warehouse operations and freight management is required.
- Equipment Operation: The Ability to operate a forklift is required. The ability to move other heavy equipment as needed is required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and Walking: Prolonged standing and walking throughout the warehouse.
- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.

- Manage and direct supply chain personnel in the planning, scheduling, procurement, and inventory control of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels

- Meet or exceed key metrics of days on hand, gross inventory, plant and supplier on-time delivery, days payable outstanding, cost savings, cycle count accuracy, supplier invoice on-hold metrics, and profit plan/budget forecasts. Manages inventory levels in order to meet established inventory & Day-on-Hand targets
- Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory to assure the timely fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining inventory levels that are beneficial to the overall operation of the company
- Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's vision, encourages continuous improvement while aligning with supply chain functional requirements (i.e. Materials Management Assessment)
