Packaging team member, you will be integral to the manufacturing process by utilizing core skills in packaging and manufacturing. Packaging is responsible for preparing and packing orders for shipment. The Warehouse Packer selects products from the inventory, checks them for any damages, and then packs them into boxes or containers. They are also responsible for labeling packages with shipping information and ensuring that all orders are accurate and complete.
Position Responsibilities
* Package items for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements
* Inspect products for defects and damages before packaging
* Ensure accurate labeling and documentation on all packages
* Operate warehouse equipment, to move products and materials
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
* Assist with inventory management by counting and reporting stock levels
* Communicate with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
* Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines
* Other responsibilities as needed.
Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
* Able to multitask and prioritize
* Able to use a weight scale
* Detail oriented regarding to part numbers and counting elements in a moving environment.
* Able to work alone or with others to complete tasks.
* Able to read/write English.

JOB SUMMARY: It is expected of this position to efficiently operate equipment utilized by the Logistics Department. Activities include (but are not limited to) any of the processes in operations related to preparing seed for delivery to the customer, which includes receiving, drying, cleaning, sizing, inventory, treating, packaging, shipping, and sampling activities. This position will be expected to keep the work area, warehouse and the facility clean. The main focus of this position is packaging and milling seed during those busy seasons. Participation in the maintenance of assigned equipment is expected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:- Efficiently run and clean required seed conditioning, seed enhancement and packaging equipment in the Logistics Department.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment in the Logistics Department.
- Process seed through milling equipment during the milling busy season under the Milling Lead supervision.
- Package seed during the packaging busy season under the Packaging Lead supervision.
- Report to the Packaging Lead. Primary focus is on packaging, secondary is milling.
- Meet or exceed established target throughput for assigned area(s) while maintaining our quality requirements.
- Support other Logistics workstations or company departments during slow times as assigned or approved by Leads or Assistant Operations Manager. Additional responsibilities may be required while working in other departments.
- Learn and utilize the inventory ERP system, D365. Must be able to process WO’s through D365 successfully and understand how to lookup inventory and quality information.
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work station. Proactively assist other areas in the department to maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
- Comply with SAI, State and Federal Safety requirements and promote company programs that can minimize injuries, lost time, product loss and damage.
- Additional tasks may be assigned by Leads or Assistant Operations Manager as needed.
- Follow all SAI quality assurance, policies and procedures as follows but not limited to this list:
- Be aware of and personally follow all SAI policies and procedures.
- Raise issues with Supervisor or Lead when policies or procedures are not clear or not working.
